A method of configuring a mobile transceiver, a system, and a mobile transceiver are provided. In accordance with one embodiment, there is provided a method comprising: assigning a device profile to a mobile transceiver in accordance with a device identifier (ID) of the mobile transceiver, wherein the device profile is selected from a plurality of predefined device profiles in accordance with the device ID of the mobile transceiver, each device profile defining the types of alarms capable of being configured on the mobile transceiver; assigning an alarm profile to the mobile transceiver in accordance with the device ID in dependence on the types of alarms capable of being configured on the mobile transceiver defined by the assigned device profile, wherein the alarm profile defines a plurality of alarms, each alarm including a trigger condition and one or more actions; and sending the assigned alarm profile to the mobile transceiver, wherein the assigned alarm profile is applied by the mobile transceiver subsequent to being received by the mobile transceiver.

Mobile transceiver having device-based alarm profile and a method of operation

In one embodiment, a crypto cloudlet is provided that includes a security wrapper to a virtual machine to guarantee secure Input/Output exchange between a client and one or more cryptographic adaptive services powered by a set of virtual CPUs through a single well defined channel, an adaptive service running in the virtual machine that identifies hardware resources necessary to satisfy a cryptographic demand or request, and an Ethernet interface communicatively coupled to the security wrapper providing network channel services for exchange of cryptographic data and commands. The security wrapper presents to the adaptive services the hardware accelerators exposed by the virtual machine. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A mobile transceiver having an asset-based alarm profile and a method of operation are provided. In accordance with one embodiment, there is provided a method of operating a mobile transceiver: wirelessly receiving by a wireless transceiver of a mobile transceiver from a remote server of an asset tracking service an alarm profile, wherein the alarm profile is assigned to a device identifier (ID) of the mobile transceiver, wherein the alarm profile defines at least one alarm, the at least one alarm defining a trigger condition and one or more actions to be taken by the mobile transceiver in response to detection of the trigger condition, wherein the one or more actions comprise acquiring sensor data, reporting sensor data to the asset tracking service or a combination thereof; and applying by the processor of the mobile transceiver the alarm profile to configure the operation of the mobile transceiver.

In accordance with one embodiment, there is provided a method of operating a mobile transceiver having a processor, and a wireless transceiver and a satellite receiver each coupled to the processor, the method comprising: sending a message to an asset tracking service, the message from a mobile transceiver including a device identifier (ID) associated with the mobile transceiver; receiving a message from the asset tracking service, the message including an instruction for the mobile transceiver to apply a selected travel mode; and applying the selected travel mode as a current travel mode.

A method and system for converting privacy zone corner points in a still image to PTZ coordinates using the equations for distance along the great circles of a sphere, where the sphere is defined along the pan-tilt axes of a PTZ camera with radius equal to the focal length of the image. The method includes receiving planar coordinate data defining a plurality of privacy zone corner points, the planar coordinate data taken from a still image, converting each privacy zone corner point to corresponding spherical coordinates, converting each of the corresponding spherical coordinates to corresponding PTZ coordinates, and storing the corresponding PTZ coordinates in a storage device. The stored PTZ coordinates may then be transmitted to a computer monitor. The motor of the PTZ camera moves the camera according to the PTZ coordinates until the privacy zone corner points appear at the substantial center of the monitor screen.
