A multiple cam hub apparatus for use with an umbrella that allows for deploying and collapsing a light reflecting umbrella rapidly to facilitate its use for stage, studio, motion picture and still photography. A multiple cam floating hail bearing locking hub and interlocking spacer tube are provided for opening and collapsing an umbrella using the internal compression or resilient forces in the umbrella construction. Utilizing a push and clockwise rotation of the locking hub, the umbrella is locked in the opened position. When it is time to breakdown or close the umbrella, a counterclockwise rotation of the locking hub unlocks the hub and the umbrella collapses.

High frequency programmable pulse generator lighting apparatus, systems and methods

A hand-held, rotary fabric cutter having a handle, a blade assembly, a guard assembly, and a light assembly, the blade assembly and the guard assembly being attached to the handle by a blade bolt. The rotary cutter has a rotary blade and a longitudinally and laterally retractable blade guard attached to the handle by the blade bolt, the blade guard having a right guard and a left guard, the right guard and the left guard being pivotally connected by a guard pivot joint. The light assembly has a light element, an electric switch for the light element, a power source, and electrical interconnection. A slide knob simultaneously controls both the guard assembly and the light assembly.

Rotary cutter guard and safety light assembly

Light apparatus and systems to produce a diffused light source for stage, studio, motion picture and still photography. A tube constructed from selected proportions of diffusion material and reflective material is secured at opposite ends to light reflectors or light reflecting umbrellas with light sources. The light generated by the light sources is reflected off of the reflectors and is also reflected off of the reflective material of the tube to produce a desirable light dispersion pattern across the length of the diffusion material of the tube.

Photographic lighting apparatus and systems

A parabola light reflector includes multiple light reflecting surfaces on an umbrella skin. A first or outer skin is used to provide support for and to define the shape of the inner skin. A second or inner skin has a larger surface area than the outer skin and the inner skin is made up of panels of light reflecting material. The panels of the inner skin are stitched together in a variety of different configurations to achieve differing results. The inner skin is configured into a collection of three dimensional folds, creases, bends and angles that significantly increases the surface area of the inner skin that is available to reflect light and to create novel light dispersion patterns from a light source associated with the light reflector.

The invention includes skins with a series of panels in stripes of alternating colors, in a shifted configuration, in a checkered shift configuration, in a half and half configuration, in a modified half and half configuration with a center portion having a separate color combination, in a tricolor configuration, in a shifted tricolor configuration and in a center black configuration.

Dynamic alternating panel reflector apparatus

A mounting apparatus for reflectors such as reflector umbrellas for lighting used in motion picture and still photography. The apparatus secures the reflector by retaining elements and the reflector may be removed efficiently from the apparatus and replaced by another reflector if desired by rotating one of the retaining elements about a hinge. The angular position of the reflector may be adjusted by rotating supports for the retaining elements to desired angular configurations by activation of a gear mechanism in a housing. The apparatus includes an indicator that indicates the position or angular orientation of the reflector and allows a user to orient the reflector into one or more desired angular configurations and remove the reflector while maintaining the orientation of the supports.

Reflector mounting apparatus

An apparatus and methods that includes a gel holder and an optional shade holder that allows a user to add color or eliminate or reduce reflected color and to shape, shade, diffuse, soften, absorb, block, reflect, retract and dim light inside photographic reflectors such as photographic umbrellas or other reflective apparatus. The invention allows a user to mix, blend or shape light at the source and the resulting light can be symmetrical or asymmetrical. The invention allows a user to more efficiently add texture, eliminate hotspots and create shadows by changing positions of a gel holder with a gel and one or more shade holders with shades on a reflector focus tube.
