A method of detecting congestion in a computer system. The computer system has a task source for generating a stream of computer-implemented tasks and a plurality of processing nodes arranged in a sequence and forming a processing pipeline for processing the stream of computer-implemented tasks, each one of the plurality of processing nodes having a respective system-unique identifier (SUID). The method is executable by the computer system. The method includes receiving a task packet by a given processing node, the task packet having a task body indicative of a respective computer-implemented task, and a writable congestion-indicating field; processing the task body of the task packet; determining a presence of an input queue of more than one task packet at the given processing node; and in response to the determining the presence of the input queue, updating the writable congestion-indicating field with the SUID of the given processing node.

An operations scheduler and a method of scheduling I/O operations to be processed by a memory drive are disclosed. The method includes receiving I/O operations, and for each one of them determining an estimated processing time, and an estimated processing period indicative of an estimated deadline. The method also includes determining a scheduled order of I/O operations based on the respective estimated deadlines. The method also includes monitoring an actual processing time for the I/O operations and adjusting a virtual time of the operations scheduler if a given actual processing time is above a given estimated processing time of a given I/O operation.

Method and system for scheduling I/O operations for processing

A hybrid scheduler for and a method of scheduler I/O operations for execution are disclosed. The hybrid scheduler has a first a second scheduler. The method includes receiving I/O operations from a first and second I/O source and executing, by the first scheduler, a first algorithm to determine a scheduling order of the I/O operations based on the bandwidth of a memory drive. The method also includes transmitting this order of I/O operations to the second scheduler that executes a second algorithm to determine a rescheduled order of I/O operations based on respective execution deadlines. The method also includes monitoring whether execution of the I/O operations respects the respective execution deadlines. In response to determining that the execution of at least one I/O operation does not respect the respective execution deadline, the method includes pausing accepting additional I/O operations by the second scheduler from the first scheduler.

Method and system for scheduling i/o operations for execution

A sealing element for sealing a component gap with respect to a flow, in particular for use in a fluid-flow machine, specifically in a turbomachine is provided. In addition a fluid-flow machine is provided including such a sealing element for sealing a component gap. The sealing element includes a hollow profile enclosing a cavity. Arranged in the hollow profile are a first opening and a second opening, which are spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of the hollow profile. The first opening is formed as an inlet opening for a cooling fluid into the cavity of the hollow profile, the second opening is formed as an outlet opening for the cooling fluid from the cavity of the hollow profile. With the sealing element arranged in a fluid-flow machine, the sealing element can consequently be internally cooled by means of the cooling fluid.
