A method for cleaning an object having a surface, the method including steps of (1) delivering acoustic waves to the object to dislodge debris from the surface; (2) delivering a cleaning medium to the surface to collect dislodged debris; (3) delivering the acoustic waves to the object to acoustically treat and atomize the cleaning medium and the dislodged debris; (4) applying a vacuum airflow to collect atomized cleaning medium and dislodged debris; (5) delivering a rinsing medium to the surface; (6) delivering the acoustic waves to the object to acoustically treat and atomize the rinsing medium; and (7) applying the vacuum airflow to collect atomized rinsing medium.

Method for surface cleaning

A system for cleaning an object may include an acoustic device configured to deliver acoustic waves to the object, a cleaning medium dispenser configured to deliver a cleaning medium to a surface of the object, a rinsing medium dispenser configured to deliver a rinsing medium to the surface, a vacuum configured to deliver a vacuum airflow proximate the surface, wherein the acoustic waves generate acoustic vibrations in the object to dislodge debris from the surface, acoustically treat the cleaning medium and the rinsing medium, and atomize the cleaning medium, the debris collected by the cleaning medium and the rinsing medium.

A cleaning apparatus is provided that includes a first nozzle configured to direct a cleaning jet towards a contaminated surface at a pressure sufficient to remove contaminants from the surface. At least one second nozzle is configured to direct a rinsing jet towards the contaminated surface to remove cleaning fluid therefrom, wherein the rinsing jet is directed at a pressure sufficient to isolate the cleaning jet from an ambient environment.

Method of cleaning a contaminated surface

A system for cleaning an object may include a cleaning medium dispenser configured to deliver a cleaning medium to a surface of the object, wherein the cleaning medium dislodges and captures debris from the surface, an ultrasonic device configured to deliver ultrasonic waves to the object, wherein the ultrasonic waves generate ultrasonic vibrations in the object to atomize the cleaning medium from the surface and a vacuum configured to provide a vacuum airflow, wherein the vacuum airflow collects atomized cleaning medium and debris from the surface.

The present disclosure provides a system and method for providing an improved protective coating for a substrate that may be inspected using the unaided eye or other apparatus under available light. The protective coating is mixed with an additive including flakes or particles that, when applied to the substrate as part of the protective coating, allow the user to empirically determine if the surface has received an adequate protective coat. The determination of whether or not any defects exist may include comparing the observed appearance of the specialty pigment particles with a comparative standard.

System and method for improved visual detection of protective coatings

Example systems and methods for nondestructive ultrasonic testing are provided. One example system includes at least one air-coupled ultrasonic transducer configured to emit primary ultrasound waves that interfere with each other. The primary ultrasound waves include fundamental frequency components that are multiples of each other and emitted simultaneously in locked phase. Further, the interference of the primary ultrasound waves generates a plurality of frequency harmonics in the air. The system also includes at least one receiver configured to receive ultrasonic waves emitted from an object under test.

An apparatus for cleaning an article may include a cleaning head. The cleaning head may have a lower edge and may include an annular steam chamber and a steam nozzle. The annular steam chamber may define a vacuum chamber that may be configured to receive the article therewithin. The annular steam chamber may have a plurality of discrete apertures positioned in vertically spaced relation to the lower edge. The steam nozzle may be configured to provide steam to the annular steam chamber for discharge through the apertures into the vacuum chamber.
