The disclosure relates to a spreading unit having a shaper for spreading viscous material, in particular sealing material, on a component, wherein the shaper has a first shaping contour for shaping the viscous material in the process of the spreading, wherein at least a second shaping contour of the shaper for shaping the viscous material can be brought by means of an actuator, in a direction of spreading, into superimposition with the first shaping contour, so that a shape of the shaper is adjustable during an application process.

Various embodiments of the disclosure relate to a spreading unit, having a shaper, for spreading viscous material, in particular sealing material, on a component, wherein the shaper has a shaping contour for the forming of the viscous material in the course of the spreading. It is proposed that the shaping contour of the shaper for the forming of the viscous material is adjustable by actuator-based means.

An application unit for applying a viscous material to a component edge, in particular of varying width, of a component, wherein the application unit has a nozzle for applying the viscous material to the component edge, having a discharge opening of adjustable width, and wherein the application unit has a first feeler having a contact surface for contact against the component and a second feeler having a contact surface for contact against the component, wherein the first feeler and the second feeler are pretensionable with a pretensioning arrangement in opposite directions, and wherein the width of the discharge opening is adaptable in dependence on the distance of the contact surface of the first feeler from the contact surface of the second feeler.

Application unit

A manipulator has a manipulator arm with a manipulator flange at one free end. The flange holds an end effector having an application device for machining a workpiece. The manipulator flange is rotatable about hand axes. A first hand axis extends in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the manipulator arm, a second hand axis extends transversely to the first hand axis and a third hand axis extends transversely to the second hand axis. The hand axes intersect at a common intersection point. A machining force acting on the application device is diverted into the manipulator arm by way of the end effector. So that process forces during a mechanical operation do not lead to impairment of the machining pose of the manipulator arm, provision is made to fix the application device to the manipulator flange at an attachment angle to the first hand.

An apparatus for applying a viscous material, comprising a bell having a circumferential mounting rim, and a feed line, wherein the material is conveyable via a conveying element through the feed line into the bell, wherein the bell can be transported with the mounting rim, in a direction of mounting, over a protruding element, in particular a rivet head, of a component, in order to encase the element with the material, wherein in the region of the bell or the feed line a metering member is provided, wherein in the course of an application process a flow of the material can be influenced by the metering member.
