One variation of a method for modeling visual media consumption includes: receiving identification of a slot loaded within a webpage accessed by a computing device and remaining outside a first viewing window of the computing device; characterizing a set of features representative of the slot and comprising an address associated with the webpage; representing characteristics of the set of features in a feature container; characterizing a difference between the feature container and a group of feature containers representing target combinations of feature characteristics predicted to anticipate a target outcome, in a defined for a first campaign; and, based on the difference, serving a first visual media in the first campaign to the computing device for rendering within the slot prior to an event that locates the slot in the viewing window of the computing device.

Method for modeling visual media consumption

Methods, systems, and media for generating a media quality score associated with the presentation of a content item are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving a plurality of measurement streams associated with a presentation of a video content item comprising a plurality of frames; extracting, using the hardware processor, a plurality of measurements from the plurality of measurement streams; associating each measurement of the plurality of extracted measurements with a particular time position of the presentation of the video content item, wherein groups of measurements are associated with each time position of the presentation of the video content item; determining an interaction score between each measurement in a group of measurements at each particular time position of the plurality of measurement streams to obtain a plurality of interaction scores for the plurality of measurement streams at each time position; combining the plurality of interaction to generate a media quality score for the presentation of the video content item; determining whether the video content item was presented as intended by a content provider; and transmitting a notification that includes the media quality score and that includes an indication of the determination of whether the video content item was presented as intended by the content provider.

One variation of a method for selectively serving advertising content comprises: receiving identification of an advertisement slot loaded within a webpage; receiving a set of advertisement slot characteristics corresponding to the advertisement slot; accessing a model associating advertisement slot characteristics and user interactions with advertisements; for each target outcome, in a set of target outcomes, calculating an outcome score for the advertisement slot based on the set of advertisement slot characteristics and the model, the outcome score representing a probability of the user interacting with advertising content, presented within the advertisement slot, according to the target outcome; in response to a first outcome score, corresponding to a first target outcome, in the set of target outcomes, exceeding each other outcome score, assigning the first target outcome to the advertisement slot; and selecting a first advertisement, designating the first target outcome, for presentation within the advertisement slot.
