A ski boot having an upper which is partially journalled on a shell base. The upper includes a front and rear portion. The front portion or cuff is adapted to flex forward with respect to the shell base. Also provided is a control means for controlling the rigidity and flexional characteristics of the boot. The control means includes a flexion band having an arch which extends over the instep of the boot, and also includes two substantially horizontal lateral arms each attached to one end of the arch and extending over each lateral side of the shell base. Each lateral arm is connected to the bottom front portion of the cuff. The arch comprises a first deformation zone and the two lateral arms comprise second deformation zones. The flexion band also includes a means for maintaining a portion of the flexion band in a fixed position with respect the shell base. This means is positioned substantially in a zone in which the arch is connected to each lateral arm. In addition, the cuff also includes a groove, above the flexion band, which extends across the instep of the boot. A cursor is adapted to be displaced at any position along the groove to transmit the flexion force from the lower portion of the cuff to the flexion band.

Ski boot

Adjustable toggle type attachment device for a ski boot, with a series of notches constituting a rack fixed to an element to be tightened, and a tightening lever connected through a traction element to another element to be tightened. An abutment longitudinally adjustable in a continuous manner is provided on the lever, and the traction element is supported thereon.

Rapid attachment device for ski boots

An adjustment apparatus for adjusting the attachment of a movable member to a stationary member, including a body having a movable opening therein. The opening can serve as a bearing for receiving a journal axis pin which allows a shank to pivot with respect to a shell base of a ski boot. Alternatively, the opening may serve as a means for receiving a projection from a closure device to attach a movable member to a stationary member. The opening is movable so that the axis of the journal pin can be changed, or the position at which the projection attaches to the two members can be adjusted. The body is adapted to fit within a complementary-shaped housing in one of the members so that it is flush with the member. The body has a slot therein, extending in the longitudinal direction of the body and adapted to receive a frame. The frame is adapted to rotate within the body around an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the body. The frame contains the opening. When the frame rotates, it simultaneously also becomes displaced in the longitudinal direction and thereby moves the opening from a first position to a second position along the longitudinal axis of the body. The body may also be reversed in the housing. If the slot is not centered in the body then by reversing the body, four positions for the opening can be obtained.

Adjustment apparatus for ski boot

A ski boot including a shell base with a sole on its bottom, and a calf, the calf being adapted to accommodate the leg of a skier and being pivotably mounted to the shell base along a first pivot axis. The shoe further includes at least one vertical extension extending from the shell base, the calf being pivotably secured along a second pivot axis on the extension.
