Meters are described. In one example, a meter includes a totalizer including an electronic circuit and a metering screen, a cap at least partially covering the totalizer, the cap including a window to facilitate viewing of data of the metering screen, and a screen cover mounted on the cap and movable between an open position and a closed position in order to cover the metering screen. In such an arrangement the electronic circuit includes a device for detection of the open position or the closed position of the screen cover, and the detection of the open position or the closed position controls scrolling of data of the metering screen.

Fluid meters

The invention relates to a bidirectional wireless transmission system for serial format data signals between a 'master' electronic device () and a 'slave' energy meter () including a microcontroller () having a serial input port (R). According to the invention, the serial format data signals are exchanged at short range via bidirectional electromagnetic coupling means () outputting a pulse on each rising or falling front in said serial format data signals. To transmit data signals from the &#x201c;master&#x201d; device () to the &#x201c;slave&#x201d; meter (), the pulses at the output of the electromagnetic coupling means () are delivered to said serial input port (R). The microcontroller () is programmed so that each pulse received on the input port (R) generates an interrupt, so as to synchronize the microcontroller on the first received pulse and so as to act at the serial data transmission speed to generate a succession of bits, the value of each generated bit being equal either to the value of the preceding bit if no interrupt has been received in the meanwhile, or else being equal to the inverse of the value of the preceding bit if an interrupt has been received in the meanwhile.

Wireless two-way transmission of serial data signals between an electronic device and a power meter

An optical detector device for a counter, comprising a consumption indicator, formed from a rotating disc () with a section called active (A) and optical elements of the receiver and emitter types opposite the disc. The received signal from which is used to infer the number of rotations of the disc and which comprises at least two of the optical elements (A,B) of one type and at least one of the optical elements () of the other type. The section (A) is a reflecting section with a center angle of 45 to 225 DEG and the two optical elements of one type (A,B) are emitting elements, emitting a beam of light, where the lines connecting each trace (S(A), S(B)) of the beams on the disc () to the center of the disc form an angle at the center which is not zero.

Optical detector device for a counter

A device for sensing the rotation of a member rotating about an axis XX' comprises m proximity sensors situated in a plane perpendicular to the axis XX&#x2032; and in m radial directions, m being an integer greater than or equal to 2. A mark fastened to the rotary member and eccentric to the axis XX&#x2032; modifies the amplitude response of the proximity sensors when the rotary member rotates. An excitation circuit excites the proximity sensors, each sensor supplying an excitation response when it is excited. The amplitude of the excitation response of each of the sensors is compared with a comparison threshold value during a time period referred to as an observation window to supply a logic leveloraccording to whether the response amplitude is greater than or less than the comparison threshold value. The movement of the mark past one of the sensors is identified as a function of the value 0 or 1 of said logic level. The comparison threshold value or the observation window characteristic of a sensor L, Lis reset by means of successive iterations using the value 0 or 1 of the logic level when the mark cannot be at the location of the sensor.

An optoelectronic device for use in an optical detector module of a meter comprising a rotary member having a reflective sector comprises a voltage edge source, a sender comprising a light-emitting diode emitting a light pulse in response to a current pulse, a receiver, and a voltage source. The sender comprises a capacitor and a resistor connected on one side to the voltage source and the capacitor is connected on one side to the voltage edge source and on the other side to the other side of the resistor and to the anode of the light-emitting diode.
