A wireless power transfer arrangement for an elevator car of an elevator is presented. The wireless power transfer arrangement comprises primary winding units distantly arranged with respect to each other at first positions of an elevator shaft along which the elevator car is configured to be moved, at least one secondary winding unit arranged to the elevator car. Each one of the primary winding units and the at least one secondary winding unit are arranged so that there is a gap between said winding units for enabling movement of the secondary winding unit with respect to the primary winding units and for establishing an inductive coupling between said winding units whenever said winding units are arranged to face each other at one of the first positions.

Wireless power transfer arrangement for an elevator car and an elevator

The invention relates to an elevator system comprising: an elevator car; at least one motor operable in two modes wherein in the first mode the at least one motor is consuming electrical energy and in the second mode the at least on motor is generating electrical energy; at least one rechargeable battery coupled to the at least one motor; wherein the at least one rechargeable battery is configured to be charged with an energy generated by the at least one motor when the motor is in the second mode.

The invention relates to an elevator comprising an electric linear motor comprising at least one linear stator designed to be located in a fixed correlation to an environment, particularly building, and at least one mover designed for connection with an elevator car to be moved and co-acting with the stator to move the car, which motor comprises a stator beam supporting said at least one stator, which stator beam has at least one side face carrying ferromagnetic poles of said stator spaced apart by a pitch, and which mover comprises at least one counter-face facing said side face(s) of the stator beam, in which counter-face electro-magnetic components of the mover are arranged to co-act with the ferromagnetic poles mounted on the stator beam, which elevator comprises an elevator brake. According to the invention the side face of the stator beam facing the mover and/or the counter face of the mover facing the side face of the stator beam comprise(s) a brake surface which form(s) the brake interface of the elevator brake.

Elevator comprising an electric linear motor

A method for levitation control of a linear motor includes supplying an alternating current or alternating voltage to at least one oscillating circuit including at least one sensing coil being or assumed to be arranged in a fixed spatial correlation to a mover part of the linear motor such that an opening plane of the sensing coil faces a sensor counter-surface of a stator part of the linear motor with a gap therebetween; receiving a response signal from the oscillating circuit; determining a gap length of the gap based on the response signal; and controlling the gap length by driving a magnetic levitation unit of the linear motor based on the determined gap length. An inductive sensing device and an elevator system, and a method for determining a position of the linear motor are also disclosed.

Method for levitation control of a linear motor, method for measuring a position of a linear motor, inductive sensing device, and elevator system

The invention refers to an electric linear motor, control apparatus, transport system and a method. The electric linear motor comprises a longitudinal stator beam; at least one mover at least partially surrounding the stator beam and adapted to move along the stator beam; which stator beam comprises at least two side faces located at opposite sides of the stator beam, each of the side faces carrying ferromagnetic poles spaced apart by a pitch, and which mover comprises at least two counter-faces facing the respective side faces of the stator beam. The mover has in at least one of said counter-faces rotor units having at least one winding and at least one permanent magnet arranged to co-act with the ferromagnetic poles of the respective side faces of the stator beam. The ferromagnetic stator poles of the stator beam and the rotor units of the mover are used for generating propulsion forces for driving the mover along the stator beam as well as for generating attraction forces to levitate the mover around the stator beam while driving.

Electric linear motor

An electric linear motor for an elevator and a method for controlling the operation thereof are presented. The electric linear motor comprises at least one stator beam and at least one mover, wherein said at least one stator beam comprises at least two stators on opposite sides of the stator beam, and the at least one mover is in electromagnetic engagement with said at least two stators and configured to be moved relative to said stator beam. Said at least one mover comprises at least two units of electromagnetic components arranged on opposite sides of the stator beam to face said at least two stators for controlling the movement and the position of the mover with respect to said stator beam.

Electric linear motor for an elevator and method for controlling thereof

In the invention a method is presented for ensuring operating safety in an elevator system, an elevator system, and a safety device of an elevator system. The elevator system includes at least an elevator car, elevator ropes, an elevator motor, a traction sheave and at least two holding brakes, which holding brakes are arranged to prevent movement of the elevator car when the elevator is stopped. According to the invention the first holding brake is engaged at the end of an elevator run, and the other holding brakes are engaged with a delay. When one holding brake is engaged, the state of motion of the elevator and any slipping of the brake is monitored. If the brake is detected as slipping, a procedure for preventing a hazardous situation is performed.

Elevator brake management system

The invention relates to a method for monitoring the condition of the door of an elevator and determining its need for maintenance, the door comprising a door mechanism, door panels and a door operator. The signals () of the control system of a door in good condition are measured and a set of characteristics descriptive of the operation of the door is generated from them. The signals () of the door control system are measured the operation during the opening and closing movements of the door is divided into stages according to which parts of the door are functioning at each stage. From the measured signals (), a set of characteristics descriptive of the operation of the door is generated. The set of characteristics thus generated is compared to the set of characteristics for a normal operating condition stored in memory, at least in one stage of operation. Based on the comparison of the two sets of characteristics, a diagnosis is performed to determine where and how the operation of the door and its components deviates from normal operation, and the result of the diagnosis is utilized to establish the need for servicing and a servicing date.
