A method for producing a fiber web (W) in which method the fiber web (W) is calendered in at least one nip (NA) of a calender (A). The fiber web (W) is cooled at least partially by moisturizing evaporating cooling by a moisturizing evaporating cooling unit () before the fiber web is calendered and moisture is absorbed during 10-500 ms. Method and device for transferring a web onto a reel spool in the reel-up of a paper web

Method and apparatus for guiding a web of paper or board or, alternatively, an edge strip sheared therefrom, in a paper machine or finishing equipment, the method being particularly suited for threading the web tail or edge strip through the machine in conjunction with a production shutdown or after a web break. In the treatment process of a paper web, the paper web travels via a surface journalled rotatable, such as a peripheral surface of a cylinder or a roll, and the treatment process is controlled with an adjustment and control unit. The bearing arrangement used for the moving surface is a bearing whose operation is maintained by supplying control energy therein, wherein the information obtained from the control energy of the bearing is used in the adjustment and control unit to control the process. The bearing which is used can be a magnetic bearing and the process which is controlled can be reeling or winding or calendaring.
