The invention relates to a control () of the lighting of an elevator car () as well as to a method for controlling the lighting of an elevator car. The lighting of an elevator car according to the invention is controlled at least partly on the basis of information about a change in the speed of the elevator car.

Control of the lighting of an elevator car

A safety arrangement of an elevator includes a mechanical safety device () that ensures the safety of the elevator hoistway () and that can be moved into a use position (), and which safety arrangement of an elevator includes a detector () of intrusion into the elevator hoistway, which detector is fitted to receive measuring data () from the sensors () that determine the status of the entrances () of the elevator hoistway, and also to determine intrusion into the elevator hoistway () from the measuring data received, and after verifying an intrusion to switch into an operating mode () in which driving with the elevator is prevented.

Safety arrangements for elevators and methods for monitoring safety of elevator systems

An apparatus in an elevator for detecting and stopping an uncontrolled movement of the car when a machine brake intended to keep the elevator car immovable is on. The apparatus comprises a motion detector () for detecting movement of the car () and the length of the movement when the machine brake is on (), a stopping device () for stopping an uncontrolled movement of the car, and limit and control means () for defining an allowed car movement and controlling the operation of the stopping device according to information obtained from the motion detector.

Elevator safety system

Method and system for detecting and stopping uncontrolled movement of the car () in an elevator. In the method movement of the car is detected with the first movement detection means () when the brake () of the drive machinery () is in the braking status with the purpose of holding the car in its position without moving. A first control signal is formed if the car moves in the aforementioned situation. Movement of the car is stopped on the basis of the first control signal with a separate stopping appliance () with respect to the brake of the drive machinery. The operating condition of the first movement detection means are tested with the second movement detection means () during driving of the car in order to detect a fault situation. A second control signal is formed for the elevator control when a fault situation is detected, in which case the elevator control drives the car to the next stopping floor and prevents the subsequent run of the car.

Method and system for detecting and stopping uncontrolled movement of an elevator car in an elevator

The invention relates to a safety device arrangement for an elevator door opening, said safety device arrangement comprising at least a toe guard () placed substantially at the lower edge of the elevator car and a safety circuit () connected to the elevator system. The safety device arrangement comprises a safety circuit switch () placed on the toe guard () and a bypass switch () connected to the safety circuit (), said bypass switch being fitted to bypass the safety circuit switch () at least when the elevator is at or close to the lowest landing floor.

Elevator arrangement

A system for regional and local supervision and monitoring of elevator equipment, that includes a modular system containing a service center set of equipment and an on-site set of equipment connected to at least one building. Communication between these sets of equipment is implemented using a remote communication link. A connection from an elevator car to a service center and from a service center to an elevator car is provided through the on-site equipment. A connection between an elevator car and a preselected service point can be established by the on-site equipment.
