A method for modernizing the control system of a bank of elevators, wherein in a first stage, the elevators are connected to work under elevator-specific computers controlled by a control system comprising a group controller and communicating by means of at least one serial communication bus. The connection is effected using passive adapters between the computers and the old elevator controller. For completing the modernization process of the individual elevators, the elevator-specific functions are modernized by replacing their old functions with functional modules and/or by adding functional modules performing new functions. The functional modules are connected to the elevator computer on a serial bus, one at a time, for gradually replacing the old elevator circuits connectable to a serial communication bus.

Procedure for modernizing an elevator group

A procedure is disclosed for filtering the speed feedback signal in an elevator motor drive which is provided with a speed controller and in which the speed of rotation of the motor is measured. The procedure of the invention involves sampling the speed feedback signal, producing a prediction of the next sample by a predicting procedure that filters the noise in the speed feedback signal, and forming an estimate of the latest sample by delaying the prediction by a time corresponding to one sample.

A procedure for the tuning of a position controller of an elevator is disclosed wherein an artificial excitation signal is input to the elevator drive system, the response corresponding to the excitation is measured, a mathematical model of the elevator system is calculated, the behavior of the elevator system is simulated, control parameter values minimizing the difference between the target position values and the actual position values are found, individual differences in the vicinity of the ultimate target position are weighted by a large factor, the position control parameter values are reset to optimized values, a real excitation signal is input to the elevator drive system, the model parameters are calculated again, and the above sequence of operations is repeated until the model parameter values and the control parameter values converge.

Procedure for the tuning of the position controller of an elevator

The present invention concerns a procedure for modernizing the control system of a lift group, in which procedure the group control system coordinating the operation of the lifts is renovated and connected to the already existing lift-specific control system. As taught by the new procedure, for each lift is connected one matching computer between the new group control and the apparatus controlling the functions of the lift, and by the aid of which the lift-specific signals are transmitted to the control of the lift and to the group control.

Procedure for modernizing the control system of a lift

This disclosure concerns a procedure for counting the number of stopping objects, such as persons who are coming to wait for an elevator or equivalent. The movements and stopping of the objects are followed by the aid of at least one Doppler radar, whose output signal amplitude changes are used to identify the change of velocity of the objects. The number of objects stopping is calculated from the magnitude of the amplitude changes and/or from the number of Doppler radar pulses recorded.
