A flow rate regulator () for limiting a flow rate of a fluid, in which a clear opening dimension (), which can be modified between a maximum and a minimum, of a control opening (), may be defined by an interaction between a control element () and a housing () of the flow rate regulator (). The clear opening dimension () of the control opening () can be modified by a deformation of the control element () as a function of a pressure acting on the control element (). The control element () has at least two segments () which are detached from one another and can each be deformed as a function of pressure, and an edge () defining the control opening () is formed by the control element () and the housing ().

In a sanitary outlet unit (), it is provided that a contact surface () is formed on a valve element () which is adjustable between an open position and a closed position in a flow path (), which contact surface (), in the open position, covers a corresponding, stationary counterpart surface () and, in the closed position, frees said counterpart surface (), such that the valve element () is automatically held in the open position by the pressure in the flow path and returns to the closed position in the event of a pressure drop (cf. FIG.).
