A display apparatus includes a backlight unit including a first light source for outputting a first color light, and a second light source for outputting a second color light that is different from the first color light, a switching element layer on the backlight unit, and including a plurality of switching elements, a liquid crystal layer on the switching element layer, and a color conversion layer on the liquid crystal layer, including a color-converting material for converting a color of light passing therethrough, including a first color area, a second color area, and a third color area, and including quantum dot particles.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

A display device for improving display quality includes a pulse compensator, a gate driver, a source driver and a display panel. The pulse compensator generates a clock signal of which amplitude decreases when peripheral temperature increases and increases when peripheral temperature decreases. The gate driver outputs a gate driving signal to the display panel based on the clock signal, wherein an amplitude of the gate driving signal decreases when the peripheral temperature increases and the amplitude of the gate driving signal increases when the peripheral temperature decreases. The source driver provides a gray-scale voltage based on gray-scale data, and the display panel displays an image corresponding to the gray-scale voltage in response to the gate driving signal. Therefore, the deterioration in the drive capability of the gate driver depending on the peripheral temperature may be prevented and display quality of the display device may be improved.

A circuit board for a display apparatus includes a substrate, a plurality of light-emitting elements arranged substantially in a line on the substrate, and a plurality of branch lines connecting the light-emitting elements to each other in series. A display that has rush current reduction during power-on is provided. A display panel that displays an image includes a gate line and a data line. A voltage generator receives a supply voltage and outputs a gate-on voltage and a gate-off voltage to first and second output nodes, respectively. The voltage generator includes a pull-up capacitor that is charged for a first time period of a power-off period and is discharged for a second time period of the power-off period to increase a voltage level of the second output node, the first and second time periods being consecutive periods of the power-off period. A gate driver selectively applies a gate-on voltage or a gate-off voltage to the gate lines, and a data driver applies a data voltage to the data line.

Display having rush current reduction during power-on

A liquid crystal display driving device that reduces horizontal crosstalk and a liquid crystal display employing the driving device are presented. The driving device includes a common voltage generator that generates first and second common voltages, and the common voltage generator includes a first capacitor provided between a first terminal for outputting the first common voltage and a second terminal for outputting the second common voltage. Since the capacitor is provided between two output terminals of the two common voltages, it reduces the distortion components of the common voltages, thereby reducing horizontal crosstalk. The invention reduces the number of parts in the driving device conferring the added benefit of reduced manufacturing cost.

Liquid crystal display driving device that reduces crosstalk

A shift register includes a plurality of stages, each of the stages generate an output signal, in sequence. Each of the shift register includes a present stage and a first capacitor. The present stage outputs an output signal based on one of a scan start signal and a carry signal of the previous stage. The first capacitor reduces a ripple component of the carry signal of the present stage which activates the next stage. Therefore, a carry signal having a reduced ripple component is supplied to the next stage, so that a transient current is intercepted at a transistor receiving the carry signal, which is arranged in the next stage, thus ensuring reliability of the shift register.
