A backlight assembly outputs light. A display panel receives the light and displays an image. A first adhesive member on an edge of the backlight assembly fixes the backlight assembly to the display panel. The backlight assembly may include a light emitting unit, a light guide plate and a reflecting member. The first adhesive member may intervene between the display panel and the reflecting member and may fix the display panel to the reflecting member.

A display apparatus includes a display panel which receives a light to display an image, a backlight unit which provides the light to the display panel, and a first protection member accommodating the backlight unit therein. Display apparatuses are provided. The display apparatus includes a light source package generating light, a circuit board including a recessed region in which the light source package is disposed, a display panel displaying images, and a light guide plate directing the light generated from the light source package onto the display panel. One of the sidewall surfaces of the light guide plate is a light incident surface on which the light from the light source package is irradiated. The light guide plate includes a light incident surface facing the front surface of the substrate, to which the light is incident, and a light exiting surface from which the light exits. The display panel receives the light from the light guide plate to display an image.
