Embodiments of the disclosure relate to a controller and a display device. As the display device is driven, the stress value is accumulated, and a compensation value based on the accumulated stress value is applied upon driving the display. Thus, it is possible to compensate for degradation of subpixels in real time. Further, the amount of degradation of the subpixel is sensed at a preset time, and the stress value is corrected based on the degradation amount sensing data. Thus, it is possible to enhance the accuracy of real-time compensation for degradation of subpixels while minimizing sensing of degradation of subpixels.

Display device and a method of driving the same with pixel compensation using estimated and actual degradation

A data driving circuit, controller, and display device include a compensation table for compensating for degradation of a light emitting subpixel. The compensation table may be generated or updated based on degradation of a dummy subpixel. The dummy subpixel is disposed in a non-active area, and has the same or similar characteristics to those of the light emitting subpixel as the display device is driven. Degree of degradation of the dummy subpixel may be sensed, and by degrading the dummy subpixel more rapidly than the light emitting subpixel, accuracy of sensing may be enhanced. The degradation compensation is performed in real time during driving of the display device, and is based on the compensation table generated or updated using the degree of degradation sensed on the dummy subpixel.

There are provided a transparent display apparatus and a method for controlling the same. The transparent display apparatus includes a transparent display unit that includes an emissive area and a transmissive area and is configured to display a video, an optical sensor configured to measure the amount of light, and a light shielding unit that is disposed on one surface of the transparent display unit and is configured to adjust transmittance on the basis of the amount of light.

Provided is an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device including a plurality of pixels to display images, each of the pixels including an OLED, a driving transistor connected to the OLED, and a switching transistor configured to supply data signals to the OLED, the device including: a sensor configured to sense a change amount of a mobility of the driving transistor; a compensation value calculator configured to obtain a change amount of a threshold voltage of the driving transistor based on the sensed change amount of the mobility; and a data compensator configured to adjust the data signals based on the sensed change amount of mobility and the obtained change amount of the threshold voltage.
