An electronic device and method thereof are provided, which allow an input device e.g., a keypad or a keyboard) thereof to be customized. The electronic device may include a display module, a processor operatively connected to the display module, and a memory operatively connected to the processor. The memory may store instructions that cause, when executed, the processor to display a UI based on execution of an application, to acquire keypad information and/or user input information from a user input related to a first keypad of the UI, to determine characteristic information for a second keypad based on the acquired information, to organize the second keypad based on the characteristic information, and to display the second keypad through the UI.
