A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including an address electrode, a control board, and a data driver. The control board converts a video signal input from the outside into a differential signal, and transmits the differential signal, wherein the differential signal includes a first signal and a second signal being an inverted signal of the first signal and has a frequency of 200 MHz or more. The data driver receives the differential signal, restores the video signal from the differential signal, and supplies the restored video signal to the address electrode of the plasma display panel.

Plasma display apparatus and method of driving the same

The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus, and more particularly, to a plasma display apparatus and driving method thereof, in which scan electrodes are scanned according to one of a plurality of scan types and a last sustain pulse of sustain pulses applied to scan electrodes or sustain electrodes is controlled. The plasma display apparatus of the present invention comprises a plasma display panel comprising a plurality of scan electrodes, a plurality of sustain electrodes, and a plurality of data electrodes crossing the plurality of scan electrodes and the sustain electrodes, and a controller for scanning the scan electrodes using one of a plurality of scan types in which the order of scanning the plurality of scan electrodes is different in an address period, applies a data pulse to the data electrodes corresponding to one scan type, and controls a difference between an application time point of a last sustain pulse of sustain pulses, which are applied to the scan electrodes or the sustain electrode in a sustain period subsequent to the address period, and a application time point of a reset pulse, which is applied to the scan electrodes in a reset period of a next sub-field, to be greater than a difference between application time points of the two sustain pulses, in at least one of sub-fields of a frame.

Plasma display apparatus and driving method thereof

A plasma display apparatus for reducing heat generated in a data driver for supplying a driving voltage to an address electrode formed on a plasma display panel when driving the plasma display apparatus, and a driving method of the same are provided. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including an address electrode and a driver. The driver supplies the first data pulse to the address electrode when a temperature of the plasma display panel or an ambient temperature of the plasma display panel is less than a first temperature. Further, the driver supplies the second data pulse different from the first data pulse to the address electrode when the temperature of the plasma display panel or the ambient temperature of the plasma display panel is equal to or more than the first temperature.
