Disclosed are a pouch type secondary battery, a battery pack, and a method for manufacturing the pouch type secondary battery. According to one aspect of the present invention, in an exterior accommodating an electrode assembly, a sealing part is formed along a circumference of the electrode assembly. The sealing part includes a first sealing part formed to cover an electrode lead, and one end of the first sealing part is formed below an upper end of a circumference of a cup formed in the pouch.

The battery cell includes a battery case including a first case and a second case, at least one of the first and second cases being provided with a receiving part for receiving the electrode assembly, thermally bonded edges for sealing the receiving part being provided outside the receiving part, a positive electrode lead and a negative electrode lead protruding outward from the battery case, and an electrode assembly received in the battery case, the electrode assembly having electrode tabs protruding from one end thereof, the electrode tabs being coupled to the positive electrode lead and the negative electrode lead, wherein seal reinforcement tapes are attached to some of the thermally bonded edges so as to surround outer ends of the some thermally bonded edges.

A battery module includes a secondary battery including an electrode assembly formed by alternately stacking an electrode and a separator and a pouch type battery case which accommodates the electrode assembly therein and in which an upper case and a lower case are integrated with each other, a housing which includes at least one opening and into which the secondary battery is inserted through an opening of the at least one opening, and a cooling unit formed in the housing and disposed at one side of the secondary battery. The battery case includes a folding edge part formed at an area on a side of the secondary battery at which the upper case and the lower case are folded at an edge where the upper case and the lower case are connected, and the folding edge part of the secondary battery directly contacts the cooling unit.

A secondary battery according to the present invention comprises an electrode assembly in which an electrode and a separator are alternately stacked and a battery case accommodating the electrode assembly therein, wherein the battery case comprises a stepped part that is disposed to be stepped, an outer surface of the battery case is sealed to allow a folded part to be seated on the outer surface of the stepped part, and the electrode assembly comprises a stepped protrusion that is stepped in a shape corresponding to an inner surface of the stepped part disposed on the battery case.

The present invention relates to a secondary battery. The secondary battery according to the present invention comprises an electrode stack in which an electrode and a separator are combined with each other and a ground part grounding the electrode stack to the outside, wherein the ground part comprises a ground member disposed at one side of the separator to allow abnormal current flowing from the electrode to the one side of the separator to be introduced therein.

The present invention provides a sealing apparatus having a structure in which an application area of pressure and heat is increased by a pair of sealing blocks and a pressurization part extending from the sealing block. In the sealing apparatus according to the present invention based on the structure, when the sealing-planned part is pressurized, heat and pressure may be applied to the sealing-planned part or an insulating film to be extended, and thus an electrode lead and the sealing-planned part adjacent thereto may be firmly bonded.
