An organic electro luminescent display with auxiliary layers on a cathode contact and an encapsulating junction region to easily remove polymer organic layers of the junction and a method for fabricating the same. The organic electro luminescent display has the first electrode formed on a lower insulating substrate, a pixel defining layer formed to make some portions of the first electrode opened over the entire surface of the lower insulating substrate, an organic emission layer formed on an opening of the first electrode, the second electrode formed on the organic emission layer, an upper substrate for encapsulating the first electrode, the organic emission layer and the second electrode, and auxiliary layers formed on the cathode contact and the encapsulating junction region of the lower insulating substrate.

Organic electro luminescent display and method for fabricating the same

A laser irradiation device includes a laser generator for patterning and a laser generator for preheating. A laser induced thermal imaging (LITI) method, includes preparing an acceptor substrate, laminating a donor substrate on the acceptor substrate, and irradiating a laser beam onto a predetermined region of the donor substrate and carrying out transfer using a laser irradiation device having a laser generator for patterning and a laser generator for preheating. Advantageously, a laser beam having high intensity generated by the laser generator for patterning is used to prevent the transfer layer from being degraded, and a laser beam generated by the laser generator for preheating is simultaneously used for preheating so that an edge open failure does not occur and the transfer can be readily carried out even in a portion having a step of the acceptor substrate.

Laser irradiation device and laser induced thermal imaging method

A donor substrate for a laser induced thermal imaging method and method of fabricating an organic light emitting display device using the same are provided. A transfer layer for a laser induced thermal imaging method is made of an organic material having a molecular weight of 500 to 70,000 to fabricate an organic light emitting display device having a uniform organic layer pattern. The invention also provides a method of fabricating an organic light emitting display device which may achieve a large-sized pixel region as well as improve the productivity of the organic light emitting display device.

In a flat panel display and a method of fabricating the same, the flat panel display includes a substrate having a pixel region and alignment mark regions. The alignment mark regions are disposed at opposite sides of the pixel region and along the pixel region. A unit pixel array is arranged on the pixel region in a matrix manner. The alignment mark regions have at least one pair of alignment marks disposed thereon in an opposing manner. The alignment mark pairs are located in correspondence with respective columns of the unit pixel array.

Flat panel display and method of fabricating the same

In a laser irradiation device, a patterning method and a method of fabricating an Organic Light Emitting Display (OLED) using the same. The laser irradiation device includes a light source, a mask, a projection lens, and a Fresnel lens formed at a predetermined portion of the mask to change an optical path. When an organic layer pattern is formed using the laser irradiation device, laser radiation is irradiated onto a region of an organic layer, which is to be cut, and the laser radiation is appropriately irradiated onto a region of the organic layer, which is to be separated from a donor substrate. The laser radiation irradiated onto an edge of the organic layer pattern has a laser energy density greater than that of the laser radiation irradiated onto other portions of the organic layer pattern. As a result, it is possible to form a uniform organic layer pattern and reduce damage of the organic layer.

Laser induced thermal imaging method and a method of fabricating organic light emitting display

A laser irradiation device and a method of fabricating an organic light emitting display device (OLED) using the same are disclosed. The laser irradiation device includes: a laser source generating a laser beam; a mask disposed below the laser source and patterning the beam and a projection lens disposed below the mask and determining magnification of the laser beam through the mask, wherein the laser beam penetrating the mask has different doses in at least two regions. Thus, the laser irradiation device can maximize emission efficiency and enhance the quality of a transfer layer pattern when an organic layer of the OLED is formed using the laser irradiation device.

Laser irradiation device and method of fabricating organic light emitting display device using the same

Provided is a method of fabricating an organic light emitting display. The method includes forming an organic layer pattern on a substrate by irradiating a predetermined region of a donor substrate with a laser beam using a laser irradiation apparatus, the laser irradiation apparatus having a spatial light modulator (SLM). The spatial light modulator is used to form the organic layer pattern using the LITI method. Accordingly, it is possible to adjust various types of incident light to homogeneous and to have a desired profile. Therefore, there is provided a method of fabricating an organic light emitting display which is capable of forming an organic layer pattern without using a mask.

A donor film for a laser induced thermal imaging method capable of improving the optical efficiency of an emission layer, a light emitting device using the same, and a method of manufacturing the light emitting device are provided. The donor film for a laser induced thermal imaging method includes a base substrate, a light to heat conversion layer (LTHC) provided on the base substrate and having a pattern with a predetermined step difference, and a transfer layer provided on the LTHC. It is possible to improve the optical efficiency of the emission layer by patterning the transfer layer using the LTHC having the pattern with a predetermined step difference.

An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device and a method of fabricating the same. The OLED display device includes a substrate, a thin film transistor on the substrate and including a semiconductor layer, a gate electrode, a gate insulating layer, a source electrode and a drain electrode. A passivation layer is on an entire surface of the substrate including the thin film transistor. A planarization layer is on the passivation layer. A first electrode is on the planarization layer and electrically coupled to any one of the source electrode or the drain electrode. A metal mixture layer is on substantially the entire surface of the substrate and includes a conductive region and a non-conductive region. An organic emitting layer and a second electrode both are on the metal mixture layer.

Organic light emitting diode display device and method of fabricating the same

A method of fabricating an organic light emitting display is capable of improving device characteristics by patterning a plurality of organic layers of an emission layer and a charge transport layer using a thermal transfer method to optimize thicknesses of the organic layers corresponding to R, G and B pixels. The method includes: forming lower electrodes of R, G and B pixels on a substrate; forming an organic layer on the layer; and forming an upper electrode on the organic layer. Formation of the organic layer includes forming a portion of a hole injection layer and a hole transport layer of the R, G and B pixels over an entire surface of the substrate, the organic layer comprising a first portion and a second portion, the organic layer having a thickness equal to a sum of the thicknesses of the hole injection layer and the hole transport layer. Formation of the organic layer further comprises patterning the second portion of the organic layer, and patterning emission layers of the R, G and B pixels. The second portion of the organic layer and the emission layers of the R, G and B pixels are simultaneously formed by a thermal transfer method using a thermal transfer device having the second portion of the organic layer and the emission layers of the R, G and B pixels as a transfer layer.

An organic light emitting display device (OLED) suppressing a resonance effect and having an enhanced luminance, and a method of fabricating the same, are disclosed. One embodiment of the OLED includes: a substrate; a first electrode disposed over the substrate and having a reflective layer; an organic layer disposed over the first electrode and having a white emission layer; a second electrode disposed over the organic layer; and a transmittance controlled layer (TCL) disposed over the second electrode and having an optical path length of about 260 to about 1520 &#x212b;.

A method of manufacturing an organic light emitting device by which a pixel defining layer can be easily formed. The method includes: forming a first electrode on a substrate; forming a photoresist layer to cover the first electrode; patterning the photoresist layer and forming a blocking layer so that the blocking layer is on a side of the first electrode opposite to a side facing the substrate; forming a pixel defining layer on the substrate to cover side ends of the first electrode; removing the blocking layer and exposing the side of the first electrode contacting the blocking layer; forming an intermediate layer including an organic light emitting layer on the side of the first electrode that is exposed by removing the blocking layer; and forming a second electrode on the intermediate layer.
