A reproduction device of a recording medium and a method for operating the same are disclosed. The reproduction device of a recording medium comprises a recording medium loading unit loading the recording medium, and inputting and/or outputting data of the recording medium; a main board provided with a central processing unit implementing reproduction of the recording medium in accordance with an input signal or a previously set program; and a key operation unit directly connected with a loader of the recording medium loading unit. Accordingly, the sub application processing open and/or close of the recording medium loading unit is actuated after a power supply of the reproduction device is turned, whereby the time required to detach or insert the recording medium from or to the reproduction device can be reduced.

Reproduction device of recording medium and method for operating the same

There is provided a method of recording and reproducing an optical recording medium which performs a tracking servo and a focusing servo by irradiating a laser beam onto determined positions including lands and grooves of a track of the recording medium and detecting a tracking error signal and a focusing error signal using an electric signal from an optical pickup for picking up the laser beam reflected from the recording medium. The method includes the steps of: detecting servo information in a plurality of the determined positions including lands and grooves of the track while rotating the recording medium in a state in which only the focus servo is turned on when the optical recording medium is loaded, storing the servo information of the respective determined positions as a table, and performing the servo of the corresponding positions by applying the servo information in table during an actual data recording/reproduction.

Method of recording and reproducing an optical recording medium

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for controlling the record and reproduction of optical record medium in which plural nonrecord regions having different phase are arranged between recordable data regions for the distinction in the shape of the data region. The method and apparatus performs the servo using focus error signal and tracking error signal averaged by the low pass filter at the header region of the optical disc. Especially, the tracking servo is performed by holding a fixed DC off-set value at the header region existing on the L/G switching or holding the tracking error value of the previous same track region. As a result, the exact header region is detected, the track sliding phenomenon is removed, and the tracking servo is stabilized, resulting in preventing the degeneration of the record and reproduction characteristics.

An optical disc apparatus capable of time search function and a time search playback method thereof are disclosed, wherein the method comprises: searching for a playback area corresponding to a particular time using C_PBIT (Cell Playback Information Table) and VTS_VOBU_ADMAP (Video Title Set Video Object Unit Address Map) included in navigation information of an optical disc; and performing a playback operation from the searched playback area.

Apparatus and method for reproducing record for optical recording medium

A track jump method for an optical recording/reproducing medium is provided. In the track jump method, once a track jump command is input, a track jump operation is held until a falling edge of a header mask signal is detected. The track jump starts at the falling edge of the header mask signal and ends before a rising edge of the header mask signal so that a TZC signal is not influenced by a header during the track jump. Therefore, the track jump can be exactly and stably performed. In particular, when the track jump command is input, a PLL of a wobble signal is inhibited, and a PLL-wobble signal is held to a previous value obtained before the track jump is performed, during the track jump, or a header mask signal is generated using a read channel signal which is not influenced by a wobble period, until a wobble signal becomes stable after a trackjump. During a normal servo, a header mask signal is generated using a PLL-wobble signal to mask a header area. Therefore, a header area coming first after the trackjump is completed can be stably masked, thereby preventing a system from being unstable due to a header during the track jump.

Method and apparatus for controlling record and reproduction of optical record medium involving averaging servo error signals

A track jump method for an optical recording/reproducing medium is provided. In the track jump method, once a track jump command is input, a track jump operation is held until a falling edge of a header mask signal is detected. Track jump method for a recording medium

A method of recording and reproducing an optical recording medium which detects a defocus and a tilt of the optical recording medium and compensates the detected defocus and tilt in a high-density optical recording medium. In a free running state in which only a focus servo is turned on, the amount of defocus offset that corresponds to a maximum level of a tracking error signal is detected in a plurality of positions on inner and outer peripheries of a disc, and a tilt-zero in the respective position is detected and stored, so that a tilt servo and a focus servo are performed with the value stored in the corresponding position during an actual recording/reproduction. The method can prevent the deterioration of quality of data due the defocus during recording/reproduction, enabling real time recording by quickly stabilizing the focus servo, and stable operation of the system. Also, the method can follow corresponding tracks with a rapid stabilization of servo during a search or seek, and detect and compensate for the tilt stably and accurately in the high-density optical disc. The method can also prevent the deterioration of quality of data and a detrack due to the tilt during recording/reproduction, and thus achieve stable operation of the system.

Disclosed is a method of tracking control for an optical disc recorder and reproducer, which includes the steps of detecting a land/groove switching position, storing tracking error signals for a predetermined time if the land/groove switching position is detected, obtaining a mean value of the stored tracking error signals, and judging whether the mean value is larger than a predetermined permissible tracking level, and if it is judged that the mean value is larger than the predetermined tracking level, determining a direction of a track center, correcting the track center, and compensating for a DC offset.

An actuator for optical pick-up using the concentrated magnetization method that is capable of moving an objective lens converging a laser light beam onto an optical disc. In the actuator, a lens holder is attached to the objective lens. Coils are wound around the lens holder to receive a current. A permanent magnet constructs a magnetic circuit along with the coils to generate a driving force for the objective lens and is magnetized to concentrate a magnetic flux toward the coils. The actuator can improve a driving sensitivity in a wide frequency band with the aid of the permanent magnet in which a magnetic flux density concentrates on the effective surfaces of the coils.
