The present invention relates to a frequency modulation method based on a phase-locked loop capable of performing fast modulation independent of bandwidth. A frequency modulation system based on a phase-locked loop capable of performing fast modulation independent of bandwidth according to the present invention includes a loop filter including a proportional path and an integral path to determine a bandwidth of a phase-locked loop, a voltage-controlled oscillator configured to adjust a frequency according to an output of the loop filter, and a slope alternator configured to alternate an input current of the loop filter, wherein the slope alternator is located in the integral path of the loop filter to generate an offset current at a moment of change from a modulation rise to a modulation fall.

Provided herein is an apparatus for sensing temperature. The apparatus for sensing temperature includes: a sensor unit configured to include at least one sensor resistor and output a sensing signal varying by the sensor resistor in response to temperature when the sensor unit is applied with an operating voltage; a data conversion unit configured to convert a change in temperature sensed based on the sensing signal output from the sensor unit into a time signal and generate temperature information based on the converted time signal; and a control unit configured to control the sensor unit and the data conversion unit and output a temperature value determined depending on the temperature information.

There is provided a successive approximation analog-to-digital converter including only minimal capacitors to perform an analog-to-digital conversion operation, thereby making it possible to have very strong process change resistance characteristics while having reduced capacitance and circuit area. The successive approximation analog-to-digital converter may include a reference current supplying unit that supplies a reference current; a signal storage unit that stores a reference signal generated by charging the reference current and an input signal input from the outside; a comparing unit that compares the reference signal and the input signal; and a controller that controls the reference current supplying unit while generating the digital output signal based on the comparison result of the comparing unit to change the supply amount of the reference current supplied to the signal storage unit in proportion to the binary code.

Successive approximation analog-to-digital converter

In a voltage controlled oscillator, a resonant circuit generates a resonant frequency in response to a tuning voltage. A differential oscillator includes first and second transistors differentially cross-coupled to the resonant circuit. The first and second transistors supply energy to the resonant circuit to oscillate the resonant frequency from the resonant circuit, thereby generating first and second oscillation signals having a phase difference of 180 degree. Also, the first and second transistors adjust the first and second oscillation signals to a uniform level in response to a body bias voltage. In addition, an output level detector detects a level of the first and second oscillation signals from the differential oscillator and supplies the body bias voltage corresponding to the detected level to a body of each of the first and second transistors.
