The present application relates to a composite electrolyte membrane and a method for manufacturing the same. The composite electrolyte membrane according to the present application includes: a poly(arylene ether sulfone) copolymer including the repeating unit represented by Chemical Formula 1 and the repeating unit represented by Chemical Formula 2; and a core-shell particle including an inorganic particle core and a basic organic polymer shell.

Disclosed is a composite electrolyte membrane comprising a microporous polymer substrate and a sulfonated polymer electrolyte. The composite electrolyte membrane comprises: a first polymer electrolyte layer formed of a first non-fluorinated or partially-fluorinated sulfonated polymer electrolyte; a non-fluorinated or partially-fluorinated microporous polymer substrate stacked on the first polymer electrolyte layer, wherein pores of the microporous polymer substrate are impregnated with a second non-fluorinated or partially-fluorinated sulfonated polymer electrolyte, and the first polymer electrolyte and the second polymer electrolyte are entangled with each other on an interface thereof; and a third polymer electrolyte layer formed on the microporous polymer substrate impregnated with the second polymer electrolyte by a third non-fluorinated or partially-fluorinated sulfonated polymer electrolyte, wherein the second polymer electrolyte and the third polymer electrolyte are entangled with each other on an interface thereof. A method for manufacturing the composite electrolyte membrane, and a membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) and a fuel cell comprising the composite electrolyte membrane are also disclosed.

Reinforced composite electrolyte membrane for fuel cell

A method of preparing radioisotope hybrid nanocomposite particles using a sol-gel reaction, and radioisotope hybrid nanocomposite particles prepared using the same are provided. The method includes preparing a complex precursor using a metal ion and an unshared electron pair reactive compound, growing hybrid nanocomposite particles based on the complex precursor by means of a sol-gel reaction, calcining the nanocomposite particles in the air to remove organic matters present in the nanocomposite particles, and irradiating the nanocomposite particles with neutrons to prepare radioisotope hybrid nanocomposite particles. The radioisotope nanocomposite particles prepared using the method can be used as diagnostic and therapeutic particles in the fields of oil refining, chemistry, cement, agriculture, water resources, environment, ocean, and medicine, and can also be used as a radioisotope tracer for evaluating the risk of nanomaterials.

Disclosed are a polymer electrolyte membrane for fuel cells and a membrane electrode assembly and fuel cell including the same. The polymer electrolyte membrane includes a fluorine-based cation exchange resin having proton conductivity and fibrous nanoparticles having a hydrophilic group. By using the fluorine-based cation exchange resin having proton conductivity and the fibrous nanoparticles having a hydrophilic group in combination, performance of a fuel cell including the polymer electrolyte membrane is not deteriorated and the polymer electrolyte membrane prevents gases from permeating thereinto and has enhanced durability for extended use. A fuel cell including the above-described polymer electrolyte membrane is provided.

Provided are a tri-block copolymer and an electrolyte membrane prepared therefrom. The tri-block copolymer has a structure of polar moiety-containing copolymer block/non-polar moiety-containing copolymer block/polar moiety-containing copolymer block, or non-polar moiety-containing copolymer block/polar moiety-containing copolymer block/non-polar moiety-containing copolymer block, and is useful for an electrolyte membrane for fuel cells. The electrolyte membrane for fuel cells prepared from the tri-block copolymer exhibits superior dimensional stability and excellent fuel cell performance.

Provided are a polymer electrolyte membrane for fuel cells, and a membrane electrode assembly and a fuel cell including the same. More specifically, provided is a polymer electrolyte membrane for fuel cells including a hydrocarbon-based cation exchange resin having hydrogen ion conductivity and fibrous nanoparticles having a hydrophilic group. By using the fibrous nanoparticles having a hydrophilic group in conjunction with the hydrocarbon-based cation exchange resin having hydrogen ion conductivity, it is possible to obtain a polymer electrolyte membrane for fuel cells that exhibits improved gas barrier properties and long-term resistance, without causing deterioration in performance of fuel cells, and a fuel cell including the polymer electrolyte membrane.
