A method for measuring an end-to-end Service Level Agreement (SLA) in a network having entities of different mobile communication networks is provided. The method includes sending a server a test condition for SLA measurement, sending the server a test packet, obtaining from a test result received from the server parameter values for metrics included in the test condition, generating analysis data based on the test condition, and sending the analysis data to a manager unit for the entities based on the test condition.

Disclosed is a packet switch equipment and a band control method using same. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a number of packets are sampled by using a packet sampling function provided by a packet switch chip, and the sampled packets are transmitted to a CPU. By using the transmitted sample packets, the total amount of bandwidth used by a corresponding user is estimated based on the source MAC address or the source IP address. If the estimated value exceeds a predetermined threshold, a bandwidth limitation function is applied to the user that is providing packets that exceed the bandwidth. A number of users can be dynamically recognized even when they are undefined, and a dynamic bandwidth limitation function is performed by tracking the bandwidth used by a corresponding user.

A fiber to the home (FTTH) system based on a passive optical network (PON) includes an optical line terminal (OLT) block, an optical network terminal (ONT) block, and an optical distribution network (ODN). The ONT block includes a video-optical line terminal (V-OLT) and an OLT to output optical signals of the V-OLT and the OLT by multiplexing the optical signals. The V-OLT receives cable TV (CATV), master antenna (MATV), and satellite broadcasting (SB) optical signals inputted from a broadcasting service network to output received signals as a first optical signal having a predetermined wavelength band. A peak detector for detecting a peak value of a burst signal in a burst mode optical receiver is disclosed, which comprises: an amplifying terminal configured to reduce an offset of a peak value in a received burst signal using feedback in the peak detector; a transistor that functions as a diode when a positive signal is received from the amplifying terminal; a peak hold capacitor for charging a peak value when the transistor received the positive signal; a signal amplitude detector to monitor the received burst signal amplitude; and a current source to drive a current responsive to the output signal amplitude detector.

There is provided an optical signal monitoring method and apparatus for measuring the characteristics of an input WDM optical signal. In the optical signal monitoring method, the WDM optical signal is combined with reference lights at both sides of the WDM optical signal on the wavelength spectrum. The combined signal is input to a filter having a variable transmission wavelength according to an applied driving voltage. A driving voltage-light intensity graph of a combined optical signal detected from the filter is derived in its overall wavelength band. A linear approximated wavelength is obtained with respect to a driving voltage and a non-linear compensated wavelength is calculated in a predetermined non-linear compensation formula with the driving voltage and the operation temperature of the filter.

Disclosed is a bi-direcional wavelength-division multiplexing optical communication system including a first optical transmitter/receiver unit for transmitting a forward optical signal composed of a plurality of channels respectively allocated with wavelengths having a desired wavelength space while receiving a reverse optical signal composed of a plurality of channels respectively allocated with wavelengths each interleaved between associated ones of the wavelengths of the forward optical signal, a second optical transmitter/receiver unit for transmitting the reverse optical signal while receiving the forward optical signal, an optical fiber coupled between the first and second optical transmitter/receiver units, the optical fiber serving as a transmission medium for the forward and reverse optical signals, and an optical amplifier device arranged on the optical fiber and adapted to interleave the channels of the forward and reverse optical signals, bi-directionally received via the optical fiber, in accordance with the wavelengths of the channels, to amplify an interleaved optical signal generated in accordance with the interleaving operation, to split the amplified optical signal into the forward and reverse optical signals in accordance with wavelengths, and to bi-directionally transmit the split forward and reverse optical signals via the optical fiber.
