A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel is provided, including a lower substrate; an upper substrate disposed to face the lower substrate; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate; a lower polarizing layer with a structure of wire grid formed on one surface of the lower substrate and configured to provide polarizing-filtering of light radiated from a backlight; and an upper polarizing layer with a structure of wire grid formed on one surface of the upper substrate and configured to provide polarizing-filtering of the radiated light passing through the lower polarizing layer and the liquid crystal layer, at least one of the wire grid of the lower polarizing layer and the wire grid of the upper polarizing layer including a reflection layer configured to reflect the radiated light and an absorbing layer configured to absorb external light incident from the outside through the upper substrate.

A method of manufacturing a linear grid for a display panel, the method including: applying a material layer for the linear grid to a substrate; laminating a negative photoresist layer having a pattern of the linear grid to a target area within an entire area of the material layer; laminating a positive photoresist layer to the entire area of the material layer; covering, with a mask for blocking ultraviolet light, areas within the entire area not including the target area, and emitting the ultraviolet light; etching the material layer according to the negative photoresist layer exposed by the ultraviolet light; and forming the pattern of the linear grid on the material layer by removing the negative photoresist layer and the positive photoresist layer from the entire area.

A display apparatus having a self-luminous display panel is provided. A display panel and a display apparatus are provided. The display panel includes first and second substrates which are disposed opposite to each other and a liquid crystal layer formed in between; a color filter polarizing layer which is formed on one surface between the first and second substrates; and a polarizing layer. 3-Dimensional image projection display system and method

A horizontal position control circuit for use in high-resolution LCD monitors is disclosed. The horizontal position control circuit comprises a key pad for adjusting horizontal position of an image displayed; a key input controller for invoking a horizontal position control signal in response to input key signal; an analog-to-digital converter for dividing analog video signals by 2N (N&equals;integers) and for converting the divided analog video signals into the corresponding digital video data; a frame memory for storing the digital video data output from the analog-to-digital converter; and a controller in response to the horizontal position control signal to adjust sampling point of the analog-to-digital converter so that the horizontal position is adjusted by unit pixel, and to adjust output timing of write enable signals directed to the frame memory so that the horizontal position is adjusted by multiple pixels. In the fine adjustment mode, the horizontal position is adjusted by the unit pixel, and in the coarse adjustment it is adjusted by multiple pixels. The fine adjustment is performed by controlling sampling point of the ADC block, while the coarse adjustment is performed by controlling write cycles of the frame memory block. The invention provides for an effective control of horizontal position of an image displayed in high-resolution LCD monitors above standard SXGA and UXGA modes by using the coarse adjustment function of the horizontal position controller.

A liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates, a pair of transparent electrodes formed on the substrates, a pair of orientation layers consisting of at least two coating layers formed on the transparent electrode and a liquid crystal material layer, to thereby reduce a defect rate due to rubbing. Since two or more orientation materials having different pre-tilt angles are used, control of the pre-tilt angle is advantageous so that a disinclination defect generated when voltage is applied can be removed. The liquid crystal orientation is stable and uniform.
