A display substrate is disclosed. In one aspect, the substrate includes a first substrate which includes a first display region, a first peripheral region and a first seal-line region and a second substrate facing the first substrate and including a second display region, a second peripheral region and a second seal-line region. The substrate also includes a sealing member formed on the first seal-line region and the second seal-line region to affix the first and second substrates and a color filter formed in the first display region. The substrate further includes a first dam formed using the same material as the color filter, formed in the first peripheral region, adjacent to the first seal-line region in the first peripheral region and a second dam formed using the same material as the color filter and formed adjacent to the first display region in the first peripheral region.

Display substrate and method of manufacturing the same

Display device having plurality of charge share gate lines

Provided are a gate driving apparatus and a display device including the same. The gate driving apparatus includes a plurality of stages arranged sequentially, each stage is adapted to output a gate signal and including first output lines and a second output line, wherein the first output lines are electrically connected to a gate line corresponding to each of the stages and are adapted to transmit the gate signal to a plurality of pixels coupled to the gate line, the second output line is adapted to transmit the gate signal to a preceding stage of each of the stages, and the first output lines and the second output line share one contact pad.

Gate driving apparatus and display device including the same

A liquid crystal display includes a lower panel and an upper panel facing each other. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the lower panel and the upper panel. An attachment member attaches the lower panel and the upper panel and encloses the liquid crystal layer. A gate driver is integrated on the lower panel. The gate driver generates a gate signal and includes a plurality of stages. A plurality of control signal lines transmit a control signal to the gate driver. A passivation layer is disposed on the gate driver and the plurality of control signal lines. An alignment layer is disposed on the passivation layer and completely covers the gate driver and the plurality of control signal lines. The alignment layer includes a first region and a second region connected to the first region. The second region extends to an edge of the lower panel.

Liquid crystal display and manufacturing method thereof

A display substrate includes a plurality of gate lines extending in a first direction and arranged in a second direction in a display area of the display substrate, an alignment film formed in the display area and in an end area adjacent to end portions of the gate lines in a peripheral area surrounding the display area, and a plurality of circuit stages formed in the end area to connect to the gate lines and a dummy stage connected to a last circuit stage of the circuit stages. Each of the circuit stages includes a gate driving circuit disposed at the higher portion the gate line corresponding to the circuit stages and a gate connecting line formed in the peripheral area between the display area and the gate driving circuit to connect each of the circuit stages with each of the gate lines.

A liquid crystal display according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a substrate, a gate line formed on the substrate, a data line intersecting the gate line and including a source electrode, a drain electrode facing the source electrode, a passivation layer formed on the data line and the drain electrode, a color filter formed on the passivation layer, a cover formed on the color filter and having a contact hole exposing the drain electrode, and a pixel electrode formed on the cover and connected to the drain electrode through the contact hole, wherein the cover includes a dummy hole exposing the color filter.
