Disclosed are a signal processing device and an image display apparatus including the same. The signal processing device of an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a quality calculator configured to calculate a source quality of an image signal received from an external settop box or a network; an image quality setter configured to set an image quality of the image signal based on the calculated source quality; and an image quality processor configured to perform image quality processing on the image signal based on the set image quality, wherein in response to the source quality of the received image signal being changed at a first time point, the image quality setter changes an image quality setting sequentially from a first setting to a second setting; and based on the image quality setting, the image quality processor performs image quality processing. Accordingly, flicker may be reduced when an image quality is changed due to a change in the source quality of the received image signal.

Signal processing device and video display device comprising same

The present disclosure relates to an image display apparatus. The image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a display panel; a plurality of light sources configured to output light to the display panel; a plurality of switching elements configured to switch the light sources, respectively; and a processor configured to output a switching control signal having variable amplitude to the switching element, wherein the processor controls a driving frequency of the light source to be a second frequency higher than a first frequency corresponding to a vertical synchronization signal of the panel. Thus, the sharpness of the image can be improved.

Image display device

The present disclosure relates to a display device which displays an image with optimal picture quality according to genre. The display device may comprise: a control unit which determines the genre of an image; and a display unit which displays the image, the picture quality of which is adjusted according to the genre determined by the control unit, wherein the control unit may analyze an input image and classify the genre thereof, and revise the classified genre on the basis of a current scene.

The present invention relates to a display device which changes the quality of displayed images in real time according to the genres of the images, the display device comprising: a storage unit which stores picture quality according to the genres of images; a display unit which displays an image corresponding to an input image signal; and a control unit which acquires the genre of an image and changes the quality of the image to the picture quality corresponding to the genre.

The image display apparatus includes a panel configured to display an image, a backlight including a plurality of light sources configured to output light to the panel, a light source driver configured to drive the plurality of light sources, and a processor configured to control the light source driver, wherein the processor changes the turn on duty of a light source corresponding to a moving object area in an input image and changes the level of current flowing in the light source. Consequently, the definition and luminance of an image including a moving object may be improved.

Image display apparatus

Disclosed is a signal processing device and an image display apparatus including the same. The signal processing device includes: a quality calculator configured to compare a previous frame image and at least a region of a current frame image, and calculate image type information based on a comparison result; an image quality setting unit configured to set an image quality based on the image type information; and an image quality processing unit configured to perform image quality processing according to the set image quality. Accordingly, it is possible to improve accuracy of image analysis and perform image quality processing according thereto.
