The present invention relates to a method for controlling a laundry machine, comprising a cloth sensing step of sensing the cloth of laundry, wherein the cloth sensing step comprises: a weight sensing step of sensing the weight of the laundry; a photographing step of photographing the inside of a drum; a volume sensing step of sensing the volume of the laundry inside the drum by mean of the captured image; and a density calculation step of calculating the density of the laundry on the basis of the sensed volume and weight.

Laundry machine and control method therefor

The present invention relates to a motor drive apparatus and, more particularly, to a motor drive apparatus capable of immediately restarting by maintaining sensorless control during a stop operation of a motor. The motor drive apparatus comprises: an inverter for driving a motor by using an AC voltage; and a control unit for controlling operations of a switching element included in the inverter. At this time, when a stop command is input, the control unit decreases a duty ratio of a PWM signal until a present speed of the motor becomes smaller than a predetermined minimum speed, thereby decreasing the revolutions per minute of the motor. Then, when a restart command is input in a state where the duty ratio of the PWM signal is decreased, the control unit can immediately restart the motor by increasing the duty ratio of the PWM signal.

The controller controls rheostatic braking to be performed in order to stop the motor, performs bootstrap operation of gate terminals of the upper arm switching elements of the inverter during a first period for starting the motor, and determines whether the motor stops during the first period based on the DC voltage detected by the DC link voltage detector or the output current detected by the output current detector. Accordingly, it is possible to conveniently determine whether the motor stops in the sensorless type motor driving apparatus.
