A couple of scanning signals are applied to a pixel on the liquid crystal display panel. The scanning signals allows voltage to be separately written into a control electrode and a pixel electrode during two adjacent horizontal scanning periods or a vertical scanning period, and a coupled voltage is induced on the control electrode due to the potential variation of the pixel electrode during the next horizontal scanning period.

Liquid crystal display panel and driving method for liquid crystal display panel

A liquid crystal display replaces the common electrodes of a conventional LCD with a plurality of switch electrodes. The plurality of switch electrodes is grouped into several switch electrode sets. Each of the switch electrode sets' potential is modulated by a different driving circuit. The driving circuits can also separately modulate the potentials of the switch electrode sets according to the scanning sequence of the LCD.

Liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display panel includes an active matrix substrate having a plurality of thin film transistors. The active matrix substrate comprises a plurality of parallel scanning lines and a plurality of parallel data lines, which cross mutually and form a plurality of pixels. Each of the pixels includes the first thin film transistor, the second thin film transistor, a control electrode (CE) and a pixel electrode. The first electrode of the first thin film transistor is connected to the data line; the second electrode of it is connected to the pixel electrode; the gate electrode of it is connected to the scanning line. The first electrode of the second thin film transistor is connected to another adjacent data line; the second electrode of it is connected to the control electrode, and the gate of it is connected to another adjacent scanning line. The scanning signals driving the pixel allows the control electrode and the pixel electrode to be written into their potentials during two horizontal scanning periods or during a vertical scanning period respectively.

Liquid crystal display panel and driving method therefor

An MVA-LCD device has a first glass substrate and a second glass substrate disposed in parallel to each other. A plurality of transverse-extending scanning electrodes and lengthwise-extending signal electrodes are patterned on the first glass substrate to define a plurality of pixel areas. A color resin layer is formed on the signal electrodes, and an organic insulator is formed on the color resin layer. Also, at least a first protrusion is formed in the organic insulator within each pixel area. A plurality of pixel electrodes is formed on the organic insulator and the first protrusions to cover each pixel area of the first glass substrate.

A method and circuit for LCD panel flicker reduction. The invention relates to an adjustment circuit to reduce an LCD panel flicker, wherein the LCD panel has a plurality of scan lines and a plurality of data lines. In one embodiment, the adjustment circuit includes a variable resistor, and a plurality of impedance adjustment devices, each with impedance and having a control terminal to be coupled with a DC voltage source through the variable resistor, a power terminal to be coupled with a common voltage source, and a scan line terminal to be coupled with a scan line, wherein the impedance of each of the impedance adjustment devices can be varied when the resistance of the variable resistor is varied. Each of the impedance adjustment devices in one embodiment has a transistor. The impedance of each of the impedance adjustment devices is much higher than the impedance of the corresponding scan line to allow the LCD to be operated at higher frequencies.

Method and circuit for LCD panel flicker reduction

A thin film transistor liquid crystal display. At least a gate line and a data line define at least one pixel area. An enclosed cavity is formed in the gate line to separate the gate line into a first gate region and a second gate region. A thin film transistor has a gate electrode that is the first gate region or the second gate region, a source electrode that is an extension of the data line and is over the enclosed cavity, and a drain electrode. A pixel electrode covers the pixel area and is electrically connected to the drain electrode.

Enclosed cavity formed inside a gate line of a thin film transistor and fabrication method thereof

An in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display (IPS-LCD) device. The device has a lower glass substrate and an upper glass substrate disposed parallel to each other. A plurality of transverse-extending scanning electrodes and a plurality of lengthwise-extending signal electrodes are patterned on the lower glass substrate to define a plurality of pixel areas. In each pixel area, at least one lengthwise-extending pixel electrode and at least two lengthwise-extending common electrodes are formed on the same level plane of the lower glass substrate, wherein the pixel electrode is disposed at the interval between the common electrodes. Also, a color resin layer is sandwiched between the signal electrodes and the common electrodes. Moreover, the common electrode is located over the signal electrode across two adjacent pixel areas.

IPS-LCD device with a color filter formed on an array substrate

A floating electrode switching liquid crystal display (FES-LCD). A plurality of liquid crystal molecules held between the first substrate and the second substrate, and the liquid crystal molecules are aligned to a first direction.
