A call processor calculates the time period for which service is temporarily interrupted to include only a normal service time period in billing data, and sends the billing data to a billing processor. Therefore, a subscriber is more reasonably billed.

There is provided a method of reconnecting a communication link terminated by a service impediment during a service between a mobile station (MS) subscriber and the other party communicating with the MS subscriber through a mobile communication system having a plurality of mobile switching centers (MSCs) connected to one another, each MSC being connected to a plurality of base stations (BSs). When the service impediment lasts for at least a predetermined first time period, the MS subscriber sends a reconnection request signal. Then, the service is reinitiated between the MS subscriber and the other party through one of the plurality of BSs and one of MSCs connected to the BS in response to the reconnection request signal.

Reconnection of dropped call in mobile communication system

A novel mobile station for a CDMA system does not repeat initial pilot acquisition, when a call is abnormally released. The mobile station performs energy measurement on PN offset values of the neighbor base stations, received from the previous service base station, to determine a reference active sector. Based on whether the determined sector is identical to the previous reference active sector, call re-origination is performed from the sync channel state or the paging channel state. Accordingly, the user shouldn't have to redial and wait for a long time until the call re-origination is performed successfully. In addition, the mobile station does not need to perform initial pilot acquisition unnecessarily, and can reduce the time required for recovering the dropped call.

In the situation that a call drop occurs and a call is to be disconnected during a call service, a mobile station is informed of the call drop and the call is reconnected or disconnected according to a response of the mobile station without being released by a unilateral decision by a system. Furthermore, when the call drop occurs, the mobile station searches for an available channel and requests a call reconnection to the system.

An automatic dropped call reconnection method in a mobile communicating system is described. When a call in progress is dropped due to service impediment factors, the dropped call is automatically reconnected by paging. The base station (BS) informs the mobile switching center (MSC) of the service impediment, the MSC sends a reconnection paging request to a group of base stations and/or another MSC. The group of base stations attempt reconnection paging with the mobile station.
