Disclosed herein are grip sensing method and apparatus. The grip sensing method includes generating a sensing count by differentially amplifying a voltage potential of a grip channel based on a predetermined correction offset and performing digital conversion, comparing the sensing count with a predetermined base value to determine whether a touch condition is satisfied, performing baseline tracking for determining a baseline count based on the sensing count when the sensing count is less than the base value and the touch condition is not satisfied, stopping the baseline tracking and performing temperature compensation with respect to the baseline count using a temperature sensor mounted therein when the sensing count is equal to or greater than the base value and the touch condition is satisfied, and sensing an event based on the sensing count and the temperature-compensated baseline count.

Grip sensing method and apparatus

Disclosed are a proximity sensor and a proximity detection method for the proximity sensor. The proximity sensor includes: a reception circuit configured to receive a first electrical signal which is generated based on proximity of the conductor; a first signal processing circuit configured to determine whether or not the conductor is in close proximity to the electronic device by using the first electrical signal, a first baseline value, and a threshold value; a temperature detection circuit configured to detect the temperature of the proximity sensor independently of the first electrical signal; and a second signal processing circuit configured to, when the conductor is in close proximity to the electronic device and also a temperature variation equal to or larger than a reference value is detected by the temperature detection circuit, generate a second baseline value by adding a temporary compensation value to the first baseline value.

Proximity sensor and method for sensing proximity thereof

A capacitive touch panel is disclosed herein. The capacitive touch panel includes a plurality of bottom electrodes formed in a first direction and a plurality of top electrodes formed in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. Each of the bottom electrodes includes a plurality of first protruding electrodes formed on the first side of the second direction with respect to an imaginary centerline, and formed in an alternately protruding and recessed form along the imaginary centerline, and a plurality of second protruding electrodes formed on a second side of the second direction with respect to the imaginary centerline, formed in an alternately protruding and recessed form along the imaginary centerline, and formed at locations interleaved with respect to those of the first protruding electrodes.
