A plasma display panel includes a red phosphor layer, a green phosphor layer, and a blue phosphor layer. The thickness of the phosphor layer is satisfied by the following condition: when D is (S&#x2212;2L)/S, D&#x2267;0.64, S being a distance between barrier ribs at half the height of the barrier ribs, and L being a side thickness of the phosphor layer coated on the barrier ribs at half the height thereof.

A plasma display panel includes a substrate which includes first and second substrates disposed facing each other, a plurality of discharge electrodes disposed along a circumference of a discharge cell formed between the first and second substrates, a dielectric wall which buries the discharge electrodes, and a secondary electron emission amplifying unit which emits the secondary electrons into the discharge space and which is formed on at least a portion of a surface which contacts plasma generated in the discharge space during a discharge. The discharge voltage can be reduced due to an increase in the emission of the secondary electrons.

A green phosphor for a plasma display panel, comprising a first phosphor comprising ReBO:Tb (where Re is at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Sc, Y, La, Ce, and Gd) and a second phosphor of MgAlO:Mn (where x is in the range of 1 to 20 and y is in the range of 1 to 30). The green phosphor improves color purity, lifespan characteristics, and discharge stability of a plasma display panel.

A plasma display panel includes a fluorescent layer having a red phosphor pattern, a green phosphor pattern, and a blue phosphor pattern, wherein the red phosphor pattern contains Y(V,P)O:Eu and (Y,Gd)BO:Eu. The plasma display panel emits red light having an appropriate luminance, improved color purity, and improved afterglow properties.

A discharge gas is filled in the discharge spaces, wherein the green phosphor layer comprises from 10 to 70% by weight of a first green phosphor selected from the group consisting of ZnSiO:Mn, (Zn, A)SiO;Mn (where A is an alkali metal), and mixtures thereof; from 0 to 30% by weight of a second green phosphor selected from the group consisting of (Ba, Sr, Mg)O.aAlO:Mn (where a is from 1 to 23), LaMgAlO:Tb,Mn (where x is from 1 to 14 and y is from 8 to 47), and mixtures thereof; and from 20 to 70% by weight of a third green phosphor selected from the group consisting of ReBO:Tb (where Re is at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Sc, Y, La, Ce, and Gd), and wherein the discharge gas comprises at least 6% by weight of Xe based on the total weight of the discharge gas.
