The disclosed technology can repurpose a corrective action targeted for an original network device as a preemptive action for other network devices that are adjacent to the original network device. The other network devices are adjacent based on a shared service plan, a common geographic region, or another common criterion. In one example, the system receives an indication of an anomaly (e.g., pattern of activity) causing disruption to a service subscribed to by the user device on a network. The system selects a corrective action that is performed to remediate the disruption. In response to determining that the corrective action remediated the disruption, the system can progressively search adjacent devices for the same pattern of activity and perform the corrective action as a preemptive action for those adjacent devices.

Repurposing corrective actions as preemptive actions for adjacent clusters of user devices

A user interacts with a Voice User Interface (VUI) software application such as a digital assistant on a first user device such as a smart phone to access information about different products by communicating with a VUI server over a first communications channel. The VUI server relays indications of the products to an assistance server, for example a server in a wireless telecommunications network of a telecommunications service provider for the user device, and the assistance server provides additional information regarding the different products including images to the first user device and/or one or more additional user devices such as a smart television connected to the wireless telecommunications network user device via at least a second communications channel that is distinct from the first communications channel.

Enhanced voice user interface experience via preview services on an external assistance channel

Techniques described herein improve viewer experience by leveraging the ability of a viewer's device to access an over-the-top (OTT) content via the device's multi-channel connections to an OTT content server. In an example embodiment, the device receives the OTT content via a first channel and performs cross-party diagnostic testing through a second channel. In this embodiment, a diagnostic app in the device compares measured signals in the first channel with a first set of threshold values and further compares acquired telemetry data in the second channel with a second set of threshold values. Based on the comparison results, the device determines the possible root cause of the interruption. Further, the device performs an in-depth diagnostic testing on a determined possible root cause (e.g., OTT content server) and sends an in-depth diagnostic report to a viewer.

Cross-party diagnostics

A content management system may support a card engine to dynamically perform operations such as configuring content for display via a user interface and generating reports based on user behavior, account status, and business logic. In cooperation with a facts controller to provide facts that the card engine may access substantively in real time, a rules engine to provide constructs in the form of card definitions, and a development engine, the content management system may enable a content manager to effect changes to card and container definitions by providing or modifying rules and rulesets in the rules engine dynamically. Cards evaluated dynamically by the card engine may be transmitted to user equipment. In this way, the content manager may make content decisions in accordance with business logic and events occurring proximate to the user, thereby impacting the user experience and generating reports in a substantive and real-time fashion.

Content management

A card engine may dynamically configure content for display via user equipment (UE). A rules engine may provide constructs to the card engine in the form of card definitions, which the card engine may evaluate using facts obtained from a facts controller. The card engine may create a hierarchy of containers, which are logical abstracts for containing cards. The containers in the hierarchy, which may be organized as a tree, may contain card definitions according to respective themes determined by the card engine. Variants may be assigned weights which can be changed dynamically based on factors such as user behavior, account condition, promotions or offerings. The card having the highest weight within its container is advanced up the tree. When a card reaches the top level of the tree, it may be formatted for display via the user interface and transmitted to the UE accordingly.

Card engine for producing dynamically configured content

An anti-theft protection disablement solution is provided to authorized users and authorized customer service representatives. An anti-theft protection disablement request message from a recovery application on a user device may be received via a cloud messaging service or a binary messaging service. In turn, an anti-theft protection disablement message may be transmitted to the user device via the cloud messaging service or the binary messaging service when the anti-theft protection disablement request message is authenticated. The anti-theft protection disablement message may disable an anti-theft protection function on the user device that calls for an input of an anti-theft protection authentication credential for a factory reset of the user device.

A client computing device may obtain access to protected resources with a proof-of-possession (Pop) token. The client computing device may request an access token from an authorization server via an application server. The request may include key material (e.g., token binding type, key, and key parameters) that the client computing device possesses or has access to, such as a public key of an asymmetric public/private key pair. In some embodiments, the public key may be a confirmation (CNF) key, which may be added to the access token and JWT signed by the authorization server. The private key may be retained by the client, who may then use the PoP token to prove possession of the private key.

Access control using proof-of-possession token

A wireless telecommunications device user's home telecommunications service provider determines that the user is traveling or about to travel to a foreign jurisdiction where telecommunications services are provided by a different telecommunications service provider, and proactively provides the user with options for selecting or upgrading telecommunications service and receives a selection from the user before the user leaves the home jurisdiction or ceases contact with the home service provider. When the user arrives in the foreign jurisdiction, upgraded service per the user's selection is established or soon ready to become active. The home service provider can determine the user's travel based on one or more of the user's electronic communications, calendar entries, current location, trending geographical movement, or patterns of past travels.

A development engine may enable a developer to customize a user experience using an intuitive developer interface. A rules engine may provide constructs to a card engine in the form of card definitions, which the card engine may evaluate using facts obtained from a facts controller. The evaluated card definitions are cards that may be output for presentation via user equipment. Variants may be assigned weights which can be set or changed dynamically by the card engine substantively and in real time based on factors such as user behavior, account condition, promotions or offerings. The card engine may make content decisions proximate to events occurring to the user. The presentation of the cards may be changed substantively and in real time in accordance with the setting or changes in variants.

User interface for accessing and modifying development area content

A network terminal, e.g., a smartphone, can retrieve, from a datastore, a cryptographically-signed configuration record including a device identifier of the terminal. The terminal can transmit a request message comprising the configuration record and the device identifier. A network device can verify authenticity of the device identifier and a match between the identifier in the record and the identifier in the message. In response to confirmation of the request by a policy engine, the network device can determine a reply message comprising a cryptographically-signed second configuration record that includes a second device identifier. The terminal can verify that the signature is valid and that the second device identifier matches the device identifier. In response, the terminal can modify data in the datastore according to the second configuration record. The configuration record can lock or unlock the terminal, or determine permitted services or network peers.

Facts control and evaluating card definitions using cached facts

A customer service representative troubleshoots a software application on a mobile subscriber's user device (e.g., a mobile phone) by receiving configuration and settings information of the software application on the user device and then running a copy or instance of the software application on an emulator or in an emulation environment that simulates the user device, using the configuration and settings information. The customer service representative can then communicate emulation results and recommendations for revised software application configuration settings to the mobile subscriber, for example via the user device. In example embodiments the software application instance on the emulator does not use personal or private data of the mobile subscriber, for example content data in the software application instance that is on the user device.
