A display device includes: a substrate; a flattened layer; at least one first light-emitting element; at least one second light-emitting element; at least one first drive circuit; and at least one second drive circuit, wherein light emitted by the first light-emitting element is taken out through the substrate, light emitted by the second light-emitting element is taken out from a direction opposite to a direction in which the light emitted by the first light-emitting element is taken out, the first light-emitting element is provided in an opening provided in the flattened layer, the second light-emitting element is provided in a layer above the flattened layer and overlaps the flattened layer, and the first drive circuit and the second drive circuit are provided closer to the substrate than the second light-emitting element.

Display device

The provided method of manufacturing a display device includes a nanoparticle layer forming step and a bonding step. The nanoparticle layer forming step includes forming a nanoparticle layer including a stack of nanoparticles on either one or both of a topmost face of a first substrate including first electrodes, the first electrodes being provided on said topmost face, and a topmost face of a second substrate including a second electrode, the second electrode being provided on said topmost face. The bonding step includes bonding the first substrate and the second substrate together via the nanoparticle layer in such a manner that the first electrodes face the second electrode.

Provided is a display element according to an aspect of the disclosure including a flattening film and, on the flattening film, a plurality of banks each having a linear shape, a plurality of active layers each having a linear shape and formed between adjacent banks, and an upper transparent electrode formed on each of the plurality of active layers. A cut line having a locally reduced height with reference to the flattening film is formed in each the plurality of banks, and the upper transparent electrode formed on one of the adjacent active layers and the upper transparent electrode formed on the other of the adjacent active layers are electrically connected via a conductive electrode formed in the cut line.
