A method of reducing a nitrogen oxide content in gas is disclosed. In this method, subject gas containing nitrogen oxide is supplied to a gas passage of a surface discharger to decompose the nitrogen oxide content in the gas into nitrogen gas.

Method of reducing nitrogen oxide content in gas

A method for sterilizing objects to be sterilized is disclosed, in which an object to be sterilized such as a hand piece is preliminarily brought into a wetted state, and then accommodated and air-tightly closed up within a sterilizing chamber communicated with an oxygen cylinder, oxygen fed from the oxygen cylinder is introduced into an ozonizer to produce ozonized oxygen gas having an ozone concentration of at least 10000 ppm, preferably 15000 ppm or higher, then the ozonized oxygen as is made to pass through the sterilizing chamber after it has been heated up to perfectly replace air within the sterilizing chamber by the ozonized oxygen gas, also moisture adhered to the objects to be sterilized is partly evaporated, subsequently the communication between the sterilizing chamber and the oxygen source is interrupted, the ozonized oxygen gas is circulated through the sterilizing chamber and the ozonizer while it is heated up at the inlet of the sterilizing chamber to thereby enhance the ozone concentration up to at least 20000 ppm, preferably up to 30000 ppm or higher without consuming oxygen, and meanwhile, bacteria adhered to the objects to be sterilized are sterilized surely in a short period of time by the ozone gas under an inflated and wetted condition of the bacteria.

Apparatus for sterilizing objects to be sterilized

The present invention relates to a process for producing fiber aggregate which includes an orientation step of placing the dielectric fluid containing fibers in the form of short fiber, whisker, or a mixture thereof dispersed therein in a space between a pair of electrodes across which an AC voltage is applied, whereby causing individual fibers in the dielectric fluid to electrostatically orient, with one end pointing to one of electrodes and the other end pointing to the other electrode; and an aggregating step of aggregating the electrostatically oriented fibers while keeping the oriented step, whereby producing fiber aggregate in which the fibers are substantially one-dimensionally oriented.

Process for producing fiber aggregate

An electric field device is obtained by the steps of employing a highly pure and mechanically electrically chemically and thermally extremely durable ceramic material, such as a high purity alumina porcelain, as a dielectric material, disposing electrodes on the shaped material before sintering by a thick film printing technique, such as screen printing, with a dispersion ink of finely divided metal, e.g. tungsten, and sintering the shaped material integrally with the electrodes. The product is extremely dense, mechanically electrically chemically and thermally durable and highly reliable.

Electric field device

In the known electrical mobility analyzer, a novel means for charged particle detection instead of measuring the low level current carried by the particles is provided. This detection is based on the burst corona occuring from a positive corona electrode applied with a voltage slightly lower than its onset voltage at an instant when a negatively charged particle arrives at the tip of the corona electrode. This detection detects and counts the burst corona pulses produced by the particles negatively precharged.

This electrostatic filter dust collector has a dust collecting section which is assembled by using a mini-plate type filter member having a small width of the fold thereof and a short distance between the adjacent ridge portions thereof. Since a plurality of insulating spacers are inserted at suitable intervals into the filter member from the upstream and downstream sides thereof, the percentage of the contacting area of the spacers with respect to the filter member is low, and the percentage of the dust collecting area thereof is high. Electrodes are provided on the upstream and downstream ridge portions of the filter member, and a high voltage is applied between these electrodes, so that a uniform and stable electric field is generated on the filter member as a whole. This enables a high dust collecting efficiency to be obtained.

Electrostatic filter dust collector

There is disclosed a small-sized RF high-voltage power supply capable of stably supplying an RF high voltage to a load at the maximum power efficiency, even if the load has a nonlinear electrostatic capacity that varies with the applied voltage. The power supply has an RF step-up transformer equipped with a primary winding having a tap to which one end of a power capacitor is connected. An oscillating inductor, a thyristor, and the other end of the power capacitor are connected in series with each end of the primary winding in this order. Each thyristor conducts when a voltage is applied to it from the corresponding end of the primary winding. A diode is connected in antiparallel with each thyristor. The thyristors are alternately triggered to conducting state.

RF high-voltage power supply

An electric field forming unit that has a long surface life, high reliability, and provides a uniform surface corona discharge along the entire length of the discharge electrode. The electric field forming unit includes a dielectric substrate made of a fine ceramic having a discharge electrode and an inductive electrode formed on opposite sides thereof. The discharge electrode has peripheral edges which are provided with a better linearity than a discharge electrode formed from an electroconductive paste by screen printing. The discharge electrode may be formed of a metalized tape in a thin line form.

Electric field forming apparatus

A compact, large capacity ozonizer device includes an insulated first ceramic substrate provided with an electrode on one or both sides, and a support such as a corrugated member attached to the first substrate and on which is mounted a second substrate composed of metal or insulating ceramic with an electrode mounted thereon, the first and second substrates and the first support means forming a space through which a gas is passed to be oxidized when a high voltage is applied across the two electrodes or the electrode and the metal plate. A third substrate is supported by a second support member mounted on the second substrate to form a space through which cooling fluid is passed, the cooling fluid moving in a direction different from the direction that the gas to be oxidized flows.

A novel high-voltage pulse power source comprising an ON-OFF type high-voltage switch element, as high-voltage switch element, which can be reset in OFF state immediately after an ON action, and a current blocking mechanism arranged in the charging power source, whereby an output current from the charging source is inhibited by said current blocking mechanism to stop charging and generating of any dynamic current flow into the load during period of time from an ON action of said ON-OFF type high-voltage switch element till an OFF action of the same, and the flow of said output current is restored during an OFF state of said ON-OFF type high-voltage switch element after an OFF action of the same. In addition, a novel pulse-charging type electric dust collecting apparatus equipped with said novel high-voltage pulse power source.

High-voltage pulse power source and pulse-charging type electric dust

The specification discloses a film-shaped dust collecting electrode and an electric dust collecting apparatus having a stack of the electrodes. The electrode includes a conductive film painted onto a central area of a surface of a rectangular insulative film. A terminal base and a terminal conductor of a tongue shape extend from one shorter edge of the insulative film. A plurality of spacer protrusions are provided at spaced intervals along the opposite longer edges of the insulative film. The spacer protrusions along the opposite longer edges are staggered from one another with the conductive film intervening therebetween. Hollow frustoconical coupling protrusions are disposed symmetrically about the intersection of the two diagonal lines of the insulative film. The height of the coupling protrusions is higher than that of the spacer protrusions. In the dust-collecting apparatus, a plurality of the electrodes is stacked with the direction of terminal conductors alternately reversed. The coupling protrusions prevent relative displacement between adjacent electrodes.

Method of making an electric field device

A high-frequency high-voltage power supply in which a high-frequency high-voltage is generated with the aid of L-C oscillation without a high-frequency primary power supply or a high-frequency high-voltage converter. The negative output terminal of a first D.C. high-voltage power supply and the positive output terminal of a second D.C. high-voltage power supply are connected together and to one of the high-frequency high-voltage output terminals. Tank capacitors are connected between the positive and negative output terminals of the power supplies, respectively. One end of a first combination of a first thyristor and a first rectifier connected in anti-parallel relationship is connected to the positive output terminal of the first power supply with the anode of the first thyristor connected to the positive output terminal. One end of a second combination of a second thyristor and a second rectifier connected in anti-parallel relationship is connected to the negative output terminal of the second power supply with the cathode of the second thyristor connected to the negative output terminal. The other ends of the first and second combinations are connected to each other and to the other high-frequency high-voltage output terminal through a resonant inductance. A control device feeds high-frequency current pulses alternately to the gates of the thyristors to turn on the corresponding thyristors alternately.

High-frequency high-voltage power supply

A method for producing an ozone gas and an apparatus for producing the same are disclosed, in which a gas to be ozonized is fed to an ozonizer having a dielectric interposed between a pair of electrodes which are respectively connected to a high-frequency high-voltage power supply and thereby an ozone gas can be produced efficiently. The density of the gas to be ozonized which is fed to a silent discharge generating region in the ozonizer is made higher than the density of the same gas in the standard state. To that end, the temperature at the silent discharge generating region is lowered, and/or the pressure at the same region is increased.

Method for producing an ozone gas and apparatus for producing the same

A pulse power supply for generating extremely short pulse high voltages comprizing an ac charging high voltage, rectifier, pulse forming unit as a capacitive energy storage element, and an externally-controlled high speed synchronous switching unit, such as a mechanical synchronous spark switch of rotating type. The capacitive energy storage element, i.e. condenser is charged up by the ac charging high voltage source from zero voltage to its peak voltage through the rectifier without the use of current limiting resistance during its half cycle or desired polarity, i.e. negative one. Then, this charged potential of the capacitive element is kept, with the blocking action of the rectifier, until a desired instant of the next half cycle when the said switching unit is triggered from outside, e.g. by rotation of the rotor disc carrying the spark electrode elements, and the very short pulse high voltages are produced at this instant at the output of this pulse power supply. This charging scheme by an ac charging voltage altering from zero to its peak reduces greatly the power loss in the charging process of the capacitive element. The switching of the charged capacitive element to the load in the next half cycle when the rectifier is blocking avoid the short-circuit current to flow from the arc charging voltage source to the load, making the production of the pulse voltage stable and use of a large protective resistance unecessary.
