An ink delivery system comprises a first container. A second container, at least a portion of which is flexible, contains a supply of ink to be supplied to a print head of a printer. The second container is received within the first container and the second container defines an outlet opening arranged to be accessible externally of the first container. A propellant is interposed between an interior surface of the first container and an external surface of the second container to effect discharge of the ink through the outlet opening of the second container on demand.

Ink delivery system

An out of ink signal mechanism for an inkjet printer having at least one inkbag is disclosed. The signal mechanism includes a printed circuit board having a circuit associated with each inkbag, a contact spring and at least one lifter. The contact spring is biased towards the printed circuit board so as to normally close the circuit. The lifter is arranged to contact the contact spring when the inkbag is out of ink so as to move the contact spring to open the circuit and thereby signal an out of ink condition of the printer head of the inkjet printer.

Out of ink signal mechanism for an inkjet printer

An inkjet printer includes an inkjet cartridge having a printhead at which ink is ejected onto a media sheet, and a substantially horizontally slidable support adjacent to the cartridge. The support is substantially horizontally slidable between a first position in which the support supports a portion of the media sheet when the media sheet is printed and fed toward a media output area, and a second position in which the media sheet is free to move to the media output area.
