A light detection and ranging (LIDAR) sensor system that may be included in an autonomous vehicle includes a transmit pixel, a receive pixel, and a polarized beam splitter. The transmit pixel is configured to emit a transmit beam. The receive pixel is configured to receive a first polarization orientation of a returning beam and a second polarization orientation of the returning beam. The polarized beam splitter is optically coupled to receive the returning beam from the receive pixel. The polarized beam splitter is configured to direct the first polarization orientation of the returning beam into a first waveguide and direct the second polarization of the returning beam into a second waveguide.

A method includes determining resource utilization metrics for a plurality of instances of a service running in a container-based cluster for a plurality of timestamps over a period of time; applying a smoothing filter to the resource utilization metrics to obtain smoothed resource utilization metrics; adjusting each of the smoothed resource utilization metrics by a nominal value; calculating a plurality of ratio metrics for the smoothed resource utilization metrics; processing, with a machine learning (ML) model trained to perform resource utilization forecasting, the plurality of ratio metrics and to predict a future ratio metric for the service after a prediction time window; determining a future resource utilization for the service after the prediction time window based on the future ratio metric; and automatically adjusting configuration parameter(s) to modify a state of the container-based cluster based on the future resource utilization.

A light detection and ranging (LIDAR) transceiver includes optical antenna arrays and an optical switch. Some of the optical antenna arrays include a number of optical antennas and an optical splitter coupled to the optical antennas. The optical splitter may include a number of passive optical splitters. The optical splitter provides a portion of an input signal to the optical antennas. The optical switch is configured to selectively provide the input signal to at least one of the plurality of optical antenna arrays. The optical switch enables addressable field of view scanning by selectively providing the input signal to the plurality of antenna arrays, one array at a time.

A LIDAR transceiver includes a source input, coherent cells, and an optical switch. The optical switch is configured to switchably couple the source input to the coherent cells. At least one of the coherent cells includes an input port, an optical antenna, and a splitter. The splitter is configured to split a received portion of a laser signal into a local oscillator signal and a transmit signal, where the transmit signal is emitted through the optical antenna. A reflection of the transmit signal is received through the optical antenna as a reflected signal, where the splitter is further configured to output a return signal that is a portion of the reflected signal.
