A display apparatus includes a display panel including a display area with a curved surface, a backlight assembly which provides light to the display panel, and a bottom cover which accommodates the display panel and the backlight assembly. The bottom cover includes a bottom portion, a sidewall portion bent from a side portion of the bottom portion, and a ceiling portion bent from the sidewall portion to face the bottom portion. The backlight assembly includes a light source part disposed in an engaging space defined by the bottom portion, the sidewall portion, and the ceiling portion to emit the light, and a light guide part which guides the light emitted from the light source part to the display panel.

Display apparatus

A display apparatus includes a display panel and a first protection member which accommodates the display panel. The first protection member includes first sidewalls facing each other and second sidewalls connected to ends of the first sidewalls to face each other. The first and second sidewalls are disposed to surround a side surface of the display panel, the first sidewalls are curved symmetrical to each other, and a distance between central portions of the first sidewalls facing each other is a minimum distance between the first sidewalls, and a distance between ends of the first sidewalls facing each other is a maximum distance between the first sidewalls.

Display panel and protective member

A display apparatus includes a display panel arranged substantially along a second direction. The display panel is curved in a first direction with a first degree of curvature. The second direction crosses the first direction. A first accommodating member receives the display panel. A plurality of flexible circuit boards is connected to one side portion of the display panel. A printed circuit board is connected to the flexible circuit boards. A beading portion is disposed on a lower portion of the first accommodating member. The printed circuit board is disposed on a lower portion of the beading portion. A lower surface of the beading portion includes a curved surface that is curved in the first direction with a second degree of curvature that is smaller than the first degree of curvature.

Display apparatus having a flexible circuit board

A display apparatus includes a display panel and a backlight unit which provides light to the display panel. The backlight unit includes a light guide part, a light source part facing a light incident surface of the light guide part and including a circuit board, a first light emitting device package disposed on the circuit board, and a second light emitting device package disposed on the circuit board and which generates light having a wavelength different from that of light generated by the first light emitting device package, and an optical member disposed on at least one light emitting device package of the first and second light emitting device packages and including a plurality of rod-type lenses.

A curved display device comprises a display panel which includes a display area portion having a curved shape and a plurality of corner portions located on the outside of the display area portion where the plurality of corner portions is curved towards the display area portion in a plan view.

Curved display device

A display device includes a backlight assembly including a light emitting unit to emit a light and a display panel receiving the light and displaying an image. The light emitting unit includes a light emitting diode package, an optical lens, and a reflective layer. The light emitting diode package includes at least two light emitting diodes to emit lights having different colors. The optical lens covers the light emitting diode package and includes a first lens surface and a second lens surface changing an optical path of the light incident through the first lens surface. The reflective layer is partially disposed on the first lens surface.

Display device

A display device includes a backlight unit which generates light, a display panel which receives the light to display an image, a containing member in which the display panel is accommodated, and a supporting member coupled to the containing member and configured to support an edge portion of the display panel. The supporting member includes first and second supporting part and a coupling part. The first and second supporting parts extend in first and second directions, respectively, along the edge portion of the display panel. The coupling part is coupled to the first and second supporting parts and is configured to connect the first supporting parts to the second supporting parts. The coupling part includes a reflection surface facing a direction different from the first and second directions in a plan view.

Display device including supporting member having corner reflective surface

A backlight unit including a bottom cover having a bottom surface and a sidewall extending from the bottom surface, light sources, and a reflection sheet. Outermost ones of the light sources are configured to include a first light source and a second light source. The first light source and the second light source have different distances from the sidewall. The reflection sheet includes a first reflection sheet disposed between the sidewall and the first light source and a second reflection sheet disposed between the sidewall and the second light source. The first reflection sheet and the second reflection sheet have different inclined angles from each other.

Backlight unit and display apparatus having the same

A display device includes: a light guide member under the display panel and including a light incident surface; a heat discharge member including a heat discharge surface which extends in a first direction opposite to the light incident surface of the light guide member, and a first flat surface which extends in a second direction from the heat discharge surface; and a light source on the heat discharge member, which provides light to the light incident surface and includes a light emitting device on the heat discharge surface and including a light emitting surface opposite to the light incident surface, a circuit board on the first flat surface of the heat discharge member and electrically connected to the light emitting device, and a heat discharge portion on the heat discharge member and which couples the light emitting device to the heat discharge surface of the heat discharge member and discharges a heat generated from the light emitting device.

A backlight driving circuit for a display apparatus includes a receiver, a signal modulation detector and a driver. The receiver receives a clock signal and a brightness data signal by a serial transmission and in response to an enable signal. The brightness data signal is synchronized with the clock signal and includes brightness information. The signal modulation detector detects a modulation of the brightness data signal, based on at least one of the clock signal and the enable signal, and outputs a control signal based on a detected result thereof. The driver receives the brightness data signal, in synchronization with the clock signal, selects one of the brightness data signal and a predetermined reference brightness data signal in response to the control signal, generates a driving voltage using the selected brightness data signal, and provides the driving voltage to the backlight unit to control the brightness of the backlight unit.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

A light-source unit for providing light to a display panel includes at least one light-source. The at least one light-source is mounted in a circuit board. A body portion having a housing space houses the circuit board on which the at least one light-source is mounted. A reflection portion reflects light emitted from the at least one light-source. The reflection portion has a parabola shape. The light is reflected by the reflection portion to proceed straight and in a direction perpendicular to a direction that the light is emitted from the at least one light-source.

Light-source unit, back-light unit having the same, and display device having the same

A light guide plate includes an incident surface receiving incident light from a light source, an exit section that outputs exit light having a light distribution different from a light distribution of the incident light and a reflective section opposite to the exit section. A plurality of first patterns are formed on the exit section while being arranged in a first direction of the exit section to distribute the exit light with maximum brightness in a direction perpendicular to the exit section. A plurality of second patterns are formed on the reflective section to scatter the incident light.
