A foldable display device includes a foldable display panel and a foldable cover window disposed on the foldable display panel. The foldable cover window includes a flexible film and a first hard coating layer located on the flexible film with the first hard coating layer including a base material in combination with a linker material. The base material is a siloxane-based resin and the linker material is one of: a urethane-acrylic-based linker, an acrylic-based linker, and an epoxy-based linker.

A cover window includes a first layer having a first modulus, a second layer disposed on the first layer and having a second modulus smaller than the first modulus, and a third layer disposed on the second layer and having a third modulus equal to or larger than the first modulus, and in which the third layer includes a nanoparticle-polyurethane complex in which polyurethane is bonded with nanoparticles by a covalent bond. Therefore, the cover window of the present disclosure provides effects that the folding and rolling are possible with excellent surface characteristic and the restorability against the pressing and excellent optical property. A flexible display device may include the cover window.

The cover window further includes a protective film disposed on the hard-coating layer and including a base film and a plurality of protrusions protruding from the base film. A flexible display device includes a flexible display panel. The flexible display device further includes a cover window structure on the flexible display panel, including a flexible film and a first hard coating layer on the flexible film. The first hard coating layer includes a material made of a combination of a siloxane resin and a urethane-acrylic-, acrylic- or epoxy-type linker.

The foldable display device includes a display panel including a folding area and a non-folding area, a back plate unit, and a plurality of adhesive layers disposed between the display panel and the back plate unit and between the back plate units. Some of the plurality of adhesive layers includes a first adhesive part and a second adhesive part having different adhesiveness. Therefore, an adhesiveness of the plurality of adhesive layers is controlled to reduce the stress generated at the time of folding the foldable display device.
