In the invention, a brush body that is rotated and driven by a motor is disposed in a suction unit and dust is sucked from the suction unit by a blower while exhaust of the blower is sent to the suction unit side through an exhaust passage While the exhaust of the blower is blown to the motor exhaust is blown to the floor for lifting the dust from the floor to enhance the dust collection efficiency, and moreover, if the output of the motor for driving the brush is increased, temperature rise of the motor can be suppressed, and thus durability may be enhanced.

A motor is incorporated in a cylindrical body which is a rotary brush. Rotation of a rotor of the motor, directly or via a speed reduction mechanism, drives the rotary brush. Cooling air runs through the cylindrical body so that the motor is cooled and protected. The rotary brush and an electric apparatus using the rotary brush can be downsized and easily.

The associating device is adapted to be held at two stabilized positions with respect to a boundary dead point and provided with a movable member arranged to be displaced through quick action, to one of the stabilized positions after passing through the dead point, with the movable member being associated with the switch.

Floor nozzle for vacuum cleaner

Disclosed is an apparatus for supporting an electric blower of a vacuum cleaner, comprising a front supporting member positioned between the front surface of the electric blower and a housing of the vacuum cleaner and a rear supporting member positioned between the electric blower and the housing thereof. The rear supporting member is fixed to the electric blower and the housing to prevent the electric blower from being moved in its thrust direction. The rear supporting member is fixed thereto such that one end portion thereof is fixedly secured to the rear portion of the electric blower and a groove portion formed on the periphery of the rear supporting member is engaged with a fixing member protrudingly provided on the housing. The front supporting member is formed so that at least the cross section of a portion thereof positioned between the front surface of the electric blower and the housing of the vacuum cleaner has a wedge-like configuration.

Apparatus for supporting an electric blower of a vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner includes a cleaner housing accommodating a motor-driven air blower and having a dust collection chamber defined in a front end thereof. An upper cover is detachably hinged at an end to the cleaner housing for closing an upper portion of the dust collection chamber and has a slanted surface inclined downwardly toward the front end. The upper cover has an inlet hole defined in the slanted surface for communication with the dust collection chamber when the upper portion of the dust collection chamber is closed by the upper cover. A connector pipe connected at one end to an intake hose has an opposite end rotatably coupled to the inlet hole. The connector pipe is bent at such an angle as to be directed substantially vertically when the hose is directed upwardly.

In a vacuum cleaner of the type arranged to stop a motor when a driven brush is overloaded due to engagement with carpet or other obstacles, a starter circuit responsive to a manually operable power switch is employed to start the motor. The rotation of the rotary brush is detected by way of a sensor which produces a voltage. The starter circuit produces another voltage for a given period of time after the power switch is turned on, and these voltages are fed to a latching circuit which produces a control voltage when neither of the first nor second voltage is applied thereto, and the control voltage causes a control unit to interrupt power to the electric motor. As a result, once the latching circuit is put in a latching state after the brush has stopped, the motor is prevented from starting again unless the power switch is turned on again.

Vacuum cleaner with agitator

An upright vacuum cleaner comprising a main body having a suction opening in the lower surface of its front portion and a handle body connected to a rear portion of the main body and extending upward. The main body is pivotally movable in the form of a seesaw as supported by contact portions on the main body positioned to the rear of the suction opening. The handle body is pivoted to the main body shiftably between an upright position and an inclined position and is provided on its lower end with propelling wheels which are positioned rearwardly away from a line perpendicular to a floor surface and passing through the pivot point. The main body front portion, namely the suction opening, is held raised from the floor surface while the handle body is in its upright position but comes into contact with the floor surface when the handle body is inclined through an angle suitable for use.
