The connector includes a conductive plug contact, a bottom insulator, and a conductive inner contact, the inner contact including a retaining portion retained in a recessed portion of the plug contact, an elastically deformable flat plate portion facing a bottom surface of a flange of the plug contact, a plurality of top surface-side projections projecting toward the bottom surface of the flange from a top surface of the flat plate portion, and a plurality of bottom surface-side projections projecting toward a support surface of the bottom insulator from a bottom surface of the flat plate portion separately at positions different from positions of the top surface-side projections, part of a sheet type connection object having a conductor exposed on at least one surface thereof being sandwiched between the bottom surface of the flange of the plug contact and the top surface-side projections of the inner contact.

Connector

A connector includes a contact connected to a flexible conductor, a housing that is attached to a flexible substrate and retains the contact, and a protection sheet that is constituted of an insulating film having a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on one surface thereof and is disposed between the housing and the flexible substrate such that the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer faces the flexible substrate, the protection sheet being disposed so as to cover at least a front surface part of the flexible substrate on which the flexible conductor is formed, and is adhered to the flexible substrate with the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, the housing having a flat surface facing the flexible substrate, an adhesive layer bonding the housing to the protection sheet being disposed between the flat surface and the protection sheet.

In a connecting method, when a flexible conductor is exposed on a top surface of a connection object, a contact is disposed on the top surface of the connection object at the predetermined position in a state where the connection object is kept as it is, and when the flexible conductor is exposed on a bottom surface of the connection object, the contact is disposed on the top surface of the connection object at the predetermined position in a state where a part of the connection object where the connection part is disposed is inverted such that the connection part faces a top surface side of the connection object while being retained at the predetermined position.

Connecting method for electrically connecting contact to flexible conductor of connection object and connector assembly having contact electrically connected to flexible conductor of connection object

A connector includes a pushing member having a projection, and a contact having a projection accommodating portion of a recess shape, the projection includes a holding portion extending across the projection in a direction orthogonal to a projecting direction of the projection and holding a flexible conductor, when the projection is inserted into the projection accommodating portion of the contact together with the flexible conductor with a middle part of the flexible conductor being held by the holding portion of the projection, parts of the flexible conductor that are situated on opposite sides of and are adjoining the middle part of the flexible conductor are sandwiched between a lateral surface of the projection and an inner surface of the projection accommodating portion to contact the inner surface of the projection accommodating portion, whereby the contact is electrically connected to the flexible conductor.

Connector and connecting method

A connector includes a first insulator, a second insulator and a contact connected to the flexible conductor, the flexible conductor having an internal conductive portion and an external conductive portion, a sheet-like member being sandwiched between the circumferential edges of the first insulator and the second insulator while overlapping the flexible conductor to attach the connector to the sheet-like member, the first insulator positioned on a side of the flexible conductor in a position where the sheet-like member and the flexible conductor overlap each other having a cutout formed to correspond to the flexible conductor, a part of the external conductive portion adjacent to the internal conductive portion of the flexible conductor entering the cutout when the sheet-like member is bent at an edge of the first insulator together with the flexible conductor.

Connector to be connected to a flexible conductor

A connector includes a base member having a projection, a contact made of a conductive material and having a projection accommodating portion of a recess shape into which the projection is inserted, and a housing holding the contact. The housing has a holding mechanism configured to hold a flexible conductor disposed to extend across an opening end portion of the projection accommodating portion of the contact. When the projection of the base member is inserted into the projection accommodating portion of the contact together with the flexible conductor held by the holding mechanism, the flexible conductor is sandwiched between a lateral surface of the projection and an inner surface of the projection accommodating portion to contact the inner surface of the projection accommodating portion. The contact is electrically connected to the flexible conductor.

A connector includes a pushing member including a projection and a pushing member-side flange formed at a root portion of the projection, and a contact having a projection accommodating portion, the pushing member-side flange including a pair of fixing portions separately arranged on opposite sides of the root portion of the projection across the projection, when the projection is inserted into the projection accommodating portion together with the flexible conductor with a part of the flexible conductor being laid along a lateral surface of the projection being fixed by the pair of fixing portions, the part of the flexible conductor laid along the lateral surface of the projection being sandwiched between the lateral surface of the projection and an inner surface of the projection accommodating portion to contact the inner surface of the projection accommodating portion, whereby the contact is electrically connected to the flexible conductor.

A connector includes a pushing member having a projection, and a contact made of a conductive material and having a projection accommodating portion of recess shape into which the projection is to be inserted, the projection having a protruding portion that is situated in a lateral surface of the projection with protruding from the lateral surface of the projection and approaches an inner surface of the projection accommodating portion when the projection is inserted into the projection accommodating portion, and a gap forming portion that is situated in the lateral surface of the projection around the protruding portion and forms a predetermined gap between the gap forming portion and the inner surface of the projection accommodating portion when the projection is inserted into the projection accommodating portion, the predetermined gap being wider than a distance between the protruding portion and the inner surface of the projection accommodating portion.

Connector adapted to be connected to flexible conductor

A garment connector includes a connector body, one or more contacts held by the connector body, one or more conductive members held by the connector body and corresponding to the one or more contacts, and a connector fixation member in a sheet-like shape held by the connector body and extending to an exterior of the connector body, the garment connector being attached to a garment by fixing the connector fixation member to the garment at the exterior of the connector body.

A floating connector includes a base portion, a contact portion that comes into contact with a counter connector, and an arm portion that connects the base portion to the contact portion, the arm portion includes an elastically deformable portion extending from the base portion in a direction parallel to a fitting axis, a tip end of the arm portion extends in a direction intersecting the fitting axis, the contact portion is formed at the tip end of the arm portion, and the elastically deformable portion twists and deforms, whereby the contact portion is floated in an arcuate motion within a plane perpendicular to the fitting axis.

A waterproof terminal structure includes a contact having a spring contact point, and a terminal member that holds the contact, the terminal member including a contact connection portion having conductivity and connected to the contact, a seal portion tightly attached to an insulating waterproof member disposed at least along a circumference of an opening of a housing, and a substrate mount portion having conductivity and connected to a wiring portion of a substrate, the contact connection portion and the substrate mount portion being electrically connected to each other and positioned such that a water entering path from the contact connection portion toward the substrate mount portion is cut by the seal portion, the contact not penetrating the terminal member.

Waterproof terminal structure and electronic device module

A contact unit includes a first conduction path in the form of a thin film arranged along a peripheral surface of an insulating elastic body, a second conduction path arranged along the first conduction path, and a connecting conduction path electrically connecting the first and second conduction paths to each other. A frame has a through hole. The frame supports the contact unit so that the first conduction path exposed from both openings of the through hole is brought into contact with connection objects and that the second conduction path is entirely received in the through hole.
