A planar light source includes a support member; a light guide member including a first surface located proximate to an upper surface of the support member, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and a through hole extending from the first surface to the second surface; a light source unit including a light-emitting element and a wavelength conversion member that covers an upper surface and a lateral surface of the light-emitting element and disposed on the support member at a position of the through hole; a light-transmissive member disposed between the light source unit and the light guide member in the through hole; and a light adjustment member disposed on the light source unit and the light-transmissive member. An upper surface of the wavelength conversion member of the light source unit is located higher than the second surface of the light guide member.

Planar light source

A light emitting device includes at least three light emitting elements arranged side by side, and one or more light transmissive members each containing a phosphor and covering the light emitting elements. The at least three light emitting elements include two outer light emitting elements arranged on outer sides, and an inner light emitting element arranged between the two outer light emitting elements and having a different peak emission wavelength than a peak emission wavelength of the two outer light emitting elements. The phosphor has a longer peak emission wavelength than the peak emission wavelengths of the outer light emitting elements and the peak emission wavelength of the inner light emitting element. The two outer light emitting elements and the inner light emitting element are connected in series.

Light emitting device and backlight including the light emitting device

The light-emitting device includes a first light-emitting element having an emission peak wavelength of 430 nm or more and less than 490 nm, a second light-emitting element having an emission peak wavelength of 490 nm or more and 570 nm or less, a support body at which the first light-emitting element and the second light-emitting element are disposed, and a light-transmissive member containing a red phosphor and covering the first light-emitting element and the second light-emitting element. A content density of the red phosphor in the light-transmissive member in a space between the first and second light-emitting elements is higher in a part below an upper surface of the second light-emitting element than in a part above the upper surface thereof.

A light emitting module includes: a lightguide plate having an upper surface and a lower surface opposite to the upper surface, the upper surface including a first hole; a light emitting element on a lower surface side of the lightguide plate, the light emitting element facing the first hole; and a reflective resin layer, wherein the first hole includes a first portion and a second portion, the first portion includes a first lateral surface sloping with respect to the upper surface, the second portion has a second lateral surface sloping with respect to the upper surface, the second lateral surface being present between an opening in the upper surface and the first lateral surface of the first portion, and the reflective resin layer is located in the first portion of the first hole.

A head-mounted display to be mounted on a head of the user includes a display panel to display an image, a lighting device to supply light to the display device, the lighting device including at least one light source including a blue light emitting element emitting blue light, and a red phosphor to emit red light when excited by the blue light from the blue light emitting element, the red phosphor including a complex fluoride red phosphor and a nitride red phosphor having a content ratio smaller than that of the complex fluoride red phosphor, a lighting controller to control driving of the light source in synchronization with the image display by the display device so that a one-frame display period in the display device includes a turn-on period and a turn-off period, and a lens.

A method for manufacturing a light emitting device includes: mounting a first light emitting element whose emission peak wavelength is in a range of 430 nm to 490 nm and a second light emitting element whose emission peak wavelength is in a range of 490 nm to 570 nm; and providing a light transmitting member including a red phosphor and at least one of a green phosphor of which a half width of an emission spectrum is not more than 45 nm and a blue phosphor of which a half width of an emission spectrum is not more than 60 nm. The step of providing the light transmitting member includes adding at least one of a predetermined amount of the green phosphor and a predetermined amount of the blue phosphor based on the emission peak wavelength of the second light emitting element.

Method for manufacturing a light emitting device comprising at least two first light emitting diodes and a second light emitting diodes interposed therebetween

A light emitting device includes a resin package having a rectangular shape in a top view and two short-side lateral surfaces and two long-side lateral surfaces. The two short-side lateral surfaces include a first external surface and a second external surface located on an opposite side from the first external surface. The two long-side lateral surfaces include a third external surface and a fourth external lateral surface located on an opposite side from the third external lateral surface. The lead is not exposed on the third external lateral surface nor the fourth external lateral surface. The first lead is exposed at the first external lateral surface and the second external lateral surface, respectively flush with the resin member at the first external lateral surface and the second external lateral surface. The second lead is exposed at the second external lateral surface, flush with the resin part at the second external lateral surface.

A ratio of a distance in a y-direction between, of the four defining points, two defining points furthest from each other in the y-direction to a distance in an x-direction between, of the four defining points, two defining points furthest from each other in the x-direction is 0.5 or less A peak light emission wavelength of the blue light emitting element is in a range of 447 to 452 nm, a peak light emission wavelength of the green light emitting element is in a range of 520 to 541 nm, and a peak light emission wavelength of the red light emitting element is in a range of 630 to 632 nm.

Method of determining chromaticity rank of light emitting device

A light-emitting device includes: one or more first light-emitting elements each having a peak wavelength in a range from 430 nm to less than 490 nm; a second light-emitting element having a peak wavelength Y in a range from 490 nm to less than a wavelength X; a third light-emitting element having a peak wavelength Z in a range from more than the wavelength X to 570 nm; and a phosphor or a fourth light-emitting element having a peak wavelength in a range from 580 nm to 680 nm. At least one of the second and third light-emitting elements is connected to at least one of the first light-emitting elements in series. The wavelength X is in a range from more than 490 nm to less than 570 nm with an absolute value of difference between |X&#x2212;Y| and |X&#x2212;Z| being 10 nm or less.

A method of manufacturing a light emitting device includes providing a package; disposing a light emitting element in a recess of the package; injecting a sealing material in the recess, the sealing material including fluorescent material particles and a binder, the fluorescent material particles including particles of fluoride fluorescent material that include a surface region and an inner region, both the surface region and the inner region having a composition including: tetravalent manganese ions, at least one element or compound selected from the group consisting of alkali metal elements and NH, and at least one element selected from the group consisting of Group 4 and Group 14 elements; sedimenting centrifugally the fluorescent material particles toward a bottom surface in the recess to form a sealing member that comprises a first sealing member portion and a second sealing member portion; and curing the binder to form a cured sealing member.
