Provided is a wind turbine generator including an electric pitch-control device that efficiently utilizes the entire circumferential teeth of a ring gear of a wind turbine blade so as to eliminate the need for work at high elevation using a crane or the like even when the teeth of the ring gear are partly broken. A wind turbine generator having an electric pitch-control device that performs pitch-angle control by using a motor to drive a pinion gear that meshes with a ring gear of a wind turbine blade includes a plurality of pinion-driving-mechanism securing supporters or a fixing/releasing switching part as a meshing-region changing mechanism that changes a pitch-angle-control meshing region of the ring gear that meshes with the pinion gear during the pitch-angle control.

Wind turbine generator

Provided is a wind turbine generator in which, the specifications of the gears can be designed for the level of a maximum load during driving without decreasing the necessary strength and durability. A wind turbine generator in which a nacelle is installed at an upper end of a tower that is vertically erected on a foundation includes a yaw driving unit that yaws the nacelle and/or a pitch driving unit that controls pitch angles of the wind turbine blades, wherein a drive mechanism of the yaw driving unit and/or the pitch driving unit, which are equipped with an engaging portion of a slewing bearing () having internal teeth or external teeth and a pinion gear is equipped with a clutch mechanism, at the engaging portion, that slides when receiving an input larger than a maximum load during driving.

A wind turbine generator is provided with: a nacelle mounting a wind turbine rotor; a yaw drive device generating drive force for causing yaw turning of the nacelle; a brake mechanism generating braking force for braking the turning of the nacelle; a control system controlling the yaw drive device and the brake mechanism; and a wind speed measurement device measuring wind speed. When detecting occurrence of a high wind speed state based on the wind speed while the nacelle is turned by the yaw drive device, the control device provides braking force for the nacelle by using the brake mechanism in response to the detection of the occurrence of the high wind speed state.

Wind turbine generator and nacelle turning method

A hydraulic cylinder is coupled to blades of a wind turbine generator and actuated to change a pitch angle of the blade. A variable displacement hydraulic pump supplies hydraulic oil to the hydraulic cylinder, and a discharge pressure of the pump does not follow a load pressure. When the discharge pressure of the hydraulic pump becomes a set pressure, a pressure control valve is opened to change a discharge amount of the hydraulic pump, and to make the discharge pressure of the hydraulic pump to be a pressure smaller than a cut off pressure. Further, a setting control unit sets the set pressure based on the hydraulic pressure that the hydraulic cylinder requires such that the set pressure becomes a minimum pressure required to change the pitch angle to a predetermined angle by the hydraulic cylinder.

Blade pitch controller, wind turbine generator, and method of controlling blade pitch

Provided are a pitch actuator for a wind turbine generator and a wind turbine generator that can be prevented from losing their reliability. Provided are a cylinder () and a rod () that rotate a wind turbine rotor blade about an axis thereof relative to a rotor head to change a pitch angle; a cylinder bearing () supporting the cylinder () so as to be rotatable relative to the rotor head about a first rotation axis (L) extending substantially parallel to the axis of the wind turbine rotor blade and about a second rotation axis (L) extending in a direction crossing both the first rotation axis (L) and the axis of the cylinder () and the rod (); and a rod bearing () rotatably supporting an end of the rod () on an end surface of the wind turbine rotor blade.
