An ink jet head unit including a head () in which a plurality of nozzle arrays () are formed. Each of the nozzle arrays has a number of nozzle holes, and ink can be ejected from the nozzle holes. The head () is mounted on the head base, and flat cables () are connected at one end to mounting parts (), which are interposed between a first pair of the nozzle arrays () and a second pair of the nozzle arrays (). The flat cables are flexibly formed by covering transmission wires with an insulation film. The flat cables are connected to the head to transmit ink ejection signals for driving the head.

An ink jet recording apparatus, which performs printing by ink ejection, includes a pressure chamber in which ink liquid is filled; a nozzle hole () which is formed so as to communicate with the pressure chamber; a piezoelectric element () which is formed on the pressure chamber, and deforms the pressure chamber by mechanical expansion and contraction, whereby pressure is generated in the pressure chamber and ink is ejected from the nozzle hole (); and a dew point control unit () which maintains a dew point in an atmosphere of the piezoelectric element () and the vicinity of the piezoelectric element at a lower value than a dew point in an environment where the ink jet recording apparatus is set. The dew point control unit () includes a compressor (), and an air drier () which dries compression gas from the compressor () and feeds it to the piezoelectric element.

An ink-jet head for injecting ink into a work piece, has an ink passage in which the ink is received, and a pair of electrodes in the ink passage for heating electrically and vaporizing thermally the ink to generate an ink-jet toward the work piece, wherein a crystal grain diameter of the electrodes is not less than 0.1 .mu.m, a total orientation deviation of (002) or (011) crystal orientation face of the electrodes with respect to a direction perpendicular to an electrode layer thickness direction is decreased, and/or a surface roughness of the electrodes is not less than 0.005 .mu.m, so that oxidation and corrosion of the electrodes are restrained.

A slider being made of ferrite and a core formed with a magnetic metal film on its gap confronting surface are connected together by means of bonding glass so as to sandwich a non-magnetic film therebetween as a magnetic gap. The magnetic metal film is made of a magnetic metal material such as Fe-Ni, Fe-Al-Si and the like, and is constructed through the thin-film fabrication technology such as sputtering. A recessed portion is provided on the magnetic metal film in such a manner that the recessed portion is retracted from a medium confronting surface of the magnetic head by a depth t. Thus, no color change is caused on the magnetic metal material and, therefore, no deterioration in various characteristics of the magnetic head is expected.
