An information processing apparatus generates heart shape data indicating a three-dimensional shape including an internal structure of a heart of a subject based on echo image data indicating a cross-sectional image of the heart. The information processing apparatus then generates thorax shape data indicating a three-dimensional shape of a thorax of the subject based on X-ray image data indicating an X-ray image of the thorax of the subject. The information processing apparatus then decides, based on an image of the heart appearing in the X-ray image, a position and an orientation of the three-dimensional shape of the heart indicated by the heart shape data within the three-dimensional shape of the thorax indicated by the thorax shape data.

Three-dimensional shape data generation method and information processing apparatus

In a biological simulation apparatus, an operation unit represents a structure domain where tissues of a biological organ exist by a structure mesh model based on a Lagrange description and a fluid domain where fluid inside the biological organ exists by an ALE fluid mesh model based on an ALE description method. In a fluid-structure interaction simulation, the operation unit deforms the structure mesh model, and then deforms the ALE fluid mesh model so as to form no gap on a first interface between a domain where a site other than a certain site of the biological organ in the structure domain exists and the fluid domain or no overlap with the structure domain. The operation unit captures a position of a second interface between a domain where the certain site exists and the fluid domain by using the ALE fluid mesh model as a reference.

A biological model creation apparatus sets a plurality of control points respectively corresponding to a plurality of target points set on a plurality of valve annuli of a specified heart, on a plurality of valve annuli in a mesh model of a heart. Then, the biological model creation apparatus determines the positions of the control points in the mesh model on the basis of a first and second evaluation value regarding the positions of the plurality of control points. The first evaluation value indicates a degree of matching to relative positions among target points belonging to the same valve annulus. The second evaluation value indicates a degree of matching to relative positions among target points belonging to different valve annuli. Then, the biological model creation apparatus deforms the mesh model such that the positions of the plurality of control points coincide with the positions of their corresponding target points.

A streakline visualization apparatus sets a partial region including a discrete point at a first position on a first streakline in an analysis space as an analysis target region of the discrete point. A designation device includes a storage that stores therein a three-dimensional model of an organ, and a processor coupled to the storage. The processor executes a process including: first acquiring designations of a plurality of planes of the three-dimensional model of the organ; second acquiring designations of a specific number of pieces of point information indicating an infarct site of the organ for any one or all of the planes; determining the infarct site of the organ that is interposed between the planes on the basis of the pieces of point information; and outputting an image reproducing determination result of the infarct site of the organ at the determining using the three-dimensional model.

A disclosed modelling method includes: calculating a first function for generating data of a closed surface that contains plural points representing an annular structure in an object, based on positional information of the plural points; generating data of a first point set representing a boundary of the object, from tomographic image data; detecting data of points which are included in the first point set and located inside the closed surface by using the first function; removing the detected data of points from the data of the first point set to generate data of a second point set; calculating a second function for generating data of a shape of the object using the data of the second point set and data of the plural points; and storing data of the shape of the object, which is generated by using the second function, in the memory.

Modeling method and apparatus

In a vascular data generation apparatus, a processor generates first vascular data based on anatomical statistics data about vessels of an organ. This first vascular data has a tree structure representing a vascular network in the organ. The processor further generates second vascular data representing a plurality of vessels that connect a plurality of nodes in a geometric model of the organ with the vascular network represented by the first vascular data.

A visualization apparatus includes a memory unit and a computing unit. The memory unit stores a circulation model in which a vascular network, of an organ, having a diameter equal to or smaller than a predetermined value is defined on a two-dimensional plane, and a simulation result of a blood flow in the vascular network of the circulation model. The computing unit transforms the circulation model into a three-dimensional structure including the vascular network located on a cylindrical surface of a cylinder, and displays the simulation result on the three-dimensional structure.

A disclosed method includes: defining two first points in a model cross section of a model of an object and two corresponding second points in an image that is a cross section of the object for a reference time; performing first transforming including expansion or reduction for the model cross section so that a position of a second point is identical to a position of a corresponding first point; superimposing the image and the model cross section after the performing; second transforming a second model cross section for a second time after the reference time, so that positions of two second points in a second image for the second time are almost identical to positions of corresponding two first points in the second model cross section; and superimposing the second image and the second model cross section after the second transforming.

Based on heart behavior data, a computation unit determines a first time step at which a heart exhibits a first behavior in response to a first wave of an electrical signal, as well as a second time step at which the heart exhibits a second behavior in response to a second wave of the same. The computation unit reproduces the heart's behavior over time by updating a three-dimensional model of the heart according to the heart behavior data, simultaneously with variations in electrical signal strength over time according to electrocardiogram data. The computation unit coordinates this reproduction such that a first shape of the heart at the first time is reproduced step simultaneously with the first wave of the electrical signal, and such that a second shape of the heart at the second time step is reproduced simultaneously with the second wave of the electrical signal.

A fluid structure interaction simulation method includes a graph information forming process to form graph information of nodes obtained by discretizing a computing region for each of a fluid and a structure that are represented by meshes, and a main time development loop process to simulate a physical phenomenon. The loop process includes arranging IMEs (Interaction Mediating Elements) that move with a displacement of the structure, on a boundary of the structure, defining, within the IME, correcting functions of a pressure and a velocity of the fluid that interact with the pressure and the velocity of the fluid and the displacement of the structure, and executing a simulation based on the correcting functions, in a state in which the meshes of the fluid are mismatched to the meshes of the structure.

With reference to model information indicating the thicknesses and the positions of both ends of a plurality of elements each having a cylindrical surface, the detection unit detects a connection point where two or more elements are connected to each other, on the basis of the positions of both ends of the elements. The generation unit generates a curved surface collectively covering the connecting ends of the two or more elements, on the basis of the thicknesses and the positions of both ends of the two or more elements connected at the connection point.
