A liquid ejecting apparatus includes: a pump which is provided for a liquid supply path to supply a liquid stored in a liquid storage portion to a liquid ejection portion; a filter portion which is provided between the pump and the liquid ejection portion as a part of the liquid supply path and which includes a filter and a filter chamber defined by the filter into an upstream filter chamber and a downstream filter chamber; a return path coupled to the upstream filter chamber and the liquid storage portion; and a discharge valve located at the return path. The displacement member includes a first projecting section which is a sealing section in an outer peripheral section, and a second projecting section which is formed in an inner peripheral section rather than the first projecting section, and the housing is capable of fixing the displacement member in a state in which the first projecting section is compressed, and includes a depression section, in which the second projecting section is placed when the displacement member is fixed, in a position which faces the second projecting section.

A cleaning liquid supplying apparatus includes a first storage section, a pressure-accumulating second storage section, a plurality of cleaning liquid ejecting sections, a liquid sending section, a plurality of individual flow channel opening/closing sections, and a control section. The first storage section stores cleaning liquid. The cleaning liquid ejecting sections are connected to the second storage section via a plurality of individual flow channels having upstream ends located at positions where the upstream ends are open to a liquid reservoir when a predetermined amount of the cleaning liquid is stored in the second storage section. The liquid sending section is provided midway along a first flow channel and sends the cleaning liquid in the first storage section to the second storage section. The individual flow channel opening/closing sections open/close the respective individual flow channels. A liquid containing vessel is adapted to be inserted along an insertion direction into a liquid ejecting apparatus having an apparatus side terminal section. The liquid containing vessel includes a liquid containing body that contains a liquid, and a casing section that contains the liquid containing body. The liquid containing body includes a contact section configured and arranged to electrically contact the apparatus side terminal section. The casing section includes a wall section positioned on an insertion direction side of the casing section in the insertion direction. The wall section defines a first opening through which the apparatus side terminal section is inserted to contact the contact section.

A liquid containing body is configured to be contained in a liquid containing vessel that is inserted in the &#x2212;Y axis direction with regard to a mounting section. The first engaging section includes a position determining section that determines position of the substrate support member with regard to the liquid containing vessel in Z axis directions due to contacting with regard to the liquid containing vessel from a +Z axis direction. The position determining section is configured to regulate movement of the liquid supply member in a &#x2212;Z axis direction through the supply side adhering section.
