A manufacturing method for a polyether polysiloxane block copolymer composition that can avoid the use and incorporation of aromatic hydrocarbon-based solvents is provided. The manufacturing method is generally easy on an industrial production scale. The manufacturing method includes a step of obtaining a polyether polysiloxane block copolymer (A) by a specific reaction in the presence of a saturated hydrocarbon solvent (C) having an average number of carbon atoms in a range of 6 to 11, and a step of replacing the solvent (C) used in the reaction with (B) a (poly)glycol or a polyglycol derivative diluent, either during or after the aforementioned step. Also provided is a method of manufacturing a foam stabilizer or the like using the composition obtained by the aforementioned manufacturing method.

Provided is a polyether-modified silicone composition. The composition comprises (A) a polyether-modified silicone, and (B) a monool organic compound. The monool organic compound (B) is selected from (B1) a glycol ether compound having a hydrogen atom substituted by an alkyl group having from 2 to 8 carbon atoms at one end, a secondary alcoholic hydroxy group at the other end, from 2 to 3 repeating oxyalkylene units having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, and (B2) a tripropylene glycol monomethyl ether. Isopropyl alcohol does not exceed 1 mass % of the entire composition. Applications and manufacturing methods for the composition are also provided.

A detergent composition comprises a trisiloxane having at least one carbinol functional group. The trisiloxane comprises the reaction product of (A) an initial trisiloxane and (B) an organic compound. Component (A) has a pendant silicon-bonded functional group selected from a hydrogen atom, an epoxy-containing group, an ethylenically unsaturated group, and an amine group. Typically, component (A) is free of certain terminal silicon-bonded functional groups and is free of polyoxyalkylene groups. Component (B) has a functional group reactive with the pendant silicon-bonded functional group of component (A), and has at least one hydroxyl functional group. The trisiloxane may be of the following general formula (I): (RSiO)(RRSiO)(RSiO) (I). In formula (I), each Ris an independently selected hydrocarbyl group. Rmay be selected from the groups (i) to (x) described herein, each of the groups having at least one carbinol group. Typically, the trisiloxane has 1-6 carbinol groups.

The silicone material is an organopolysiloxane or acid-neutralized salt thereof that contains a side-chain bonded hydrophilic group having a tertiary-amine structure and represented by the general formula:&#x2014;CH&#x2014;O&#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH(OH)&#x2014;CH&#x2014;N(R)(R)wherein q is a number ranging from 1 to 6, and wherein each of Rand Ris independently a halogen-substituted or non-substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group or an alkanol group. At least one of Rand Rhas a hydroxyl group, provided the total number of hydroxyl groups in Rand Ris at most three (3). Any of Rand Rdoes not have a nitrogen atom in the group. The silicone material has a number of beneficial properties.

A polyether-polysiloxane block copolymer composition is disclosed. The copolymer composition comprises (A) a polyether-polysiloxane block copolymer having in a molecule structural units as expressed by General Formula (1) below: where a terminal group thereof is an alkenyl group or the like bonded to a polyether portion. The copolymer composition further comprises (B) a liquid monool organic compound, which is (B1) a glycol ether compound having a low degree of polymerization, a terminal hydrogen substituted with a hydrocarbon group, and a secondary alcoholic hydroxyl group provided on another terminal, or (B2) a higher alcohol compound having a branched alkyl group with 12 or more carbon atoms. The copolymer composition generally does not contain a dimethyl polysiloxane at more than the mass of component (A).
