According to an embodiment, a broadcast continuation assistance device, includes a memory that stores broadcast audio data corresponding to input broadcast audio signals in a chronological order; and an output unit that reads, from the memory, based on an anomaly detection signal received from outside, the broadcast audio data corresponding to the broadcast audio signals that would have been broadcast during an anomaly detected period, and outputs the broadcast audio signals corresponding to the read broadcast audio data after an anomaly is resolved.

A digital amplitude modulation device includes power amplifiers, a compositor, a filter, a measurement unit, a protection unit, and a controller. The power amplifiers are arranged in parallel and amplify an input signal in accordance with ON control and stop output in accordance with OFF control. The filter suppresses an unnecessary component to generate an AM signal. The measurement unit measures a measurement value between the filter and a signal output terminal and output the AM signal generated by the filter. The protection unit includes a calculator and a first processing unit. The calculator is formed from an analog circuit and calculates an evaluation value based on the measurement value. The first processing unit is formed from an analog circuit and generates a first control signal by referring to the evaluation value. Upon receiving the first control signal, the controller OFF-controls the power amplifiers.

Digital amplitude modulation device and digital amplitude modulation method

A digital amplitude modulation apparatus is provided with a measuring section, a fast surge protection section, a slow vector protection section, and a controller. The measuring section detects a voltage and a current from an RF signal. The fast surge protection section calculates an SWR from a detection signal of the measuring section, and obtains a first upper limit of the number of power amplifiers which can be put into an ON state based on the SWR and generates a first control signal. The slow vector protection section obtains a reflection coefficient from the output detection signal of the measuring section, and obtains a second upper limit of the number of the power amplifiers which can be put into an ON state based on the reflection coefficient and generates a second control signal. The controller controls the power amplifiers to be ON/OFF.

According to one embodiment, a digital amplitude modulator includes a power supply unit, a measurement unit, a calculation unit, and a power controller. The power supply unit supplies a power supply voltage to a plurality of power amplifiers. The measurement unit measures the output power and reflection coefficient of a synthesizer. The calculation unit calculates loss power occurring in each power amplifier in an ON state, and reflected power consumed by each power amplifier in the ON state. The power controller controls all the power amplifiers to be in an OFF state, and performs a normal operation, and controls the input voltage of the power supply unit or ON/OFF of the plurality of power amplifiers.
