In a touch panel structure in which transparent conductive filmsandare formed on opposing surfaces of glass substratesandand electrodesandformed on one of the transparent conductive films are connected to lead-out patternsandformed on the other transparent conductive film forming surface, connecting portionsof the electrodesand connecting portionsof the lead-out patternsandare planar and do not overlap in their thick-wise direction but mate each other in adjacent but slightly spaced relation, and these slightly separated connecting portions are connected through conductive paste.

Touch panel and method of making the same

A touch panel comprises a pair of glass substrates ( ) each having a transparent conducting, film ( ) formed on its one side surface. The glass substrates disposed with their respective transparent conducting films ( ) is faced each other and bonded together around their peripheries by a seal ( )having spacers ( &prime;) of insulating material incorporated therein, in which lead-out patterns ( ) intersect the seal ( ) prior to extending out of the touch panel. The sphere diameter of the spacers ( &prime;) is selected to be approximately equal to the particle size of silver particles ( ) contained in the conducting paste, whereby the spacers may dig in between the conducting material particles to thereby reduce the difference in height between the bumps and dips on those portions of the seal intersecting the lead-out patterns and the remaining portions, respectively.

Touch panel

A keyboard is severed along a boundary line between adjacent keytops located generally in the center of the length into keyboard parts ( ). An elongated cover plate ( ) is pivotally attached on one side edge thereof to the lower portion of the severed face of one ( ) of the divided keyboard parts, the cover plate ( ) having opposed brackets ( ) bent and extending in the same direction from the opposite ends thereof and opposed slide pins ( ) provided one on each of the brackets toward the other side edge of the cover plate opposite from the severed face, the slide pins ( ) being slidably received in corresponding elongated grooves ( ) formed in the front and rear outside surfaces of the other divided keyboard part ( ), and pins ( ) provided on the front and rear side panels of each of the divided keyboard parts being slidably and loosely fitted in elongated slots in moving links ( ).

Folding keyboard

A pattern sheet, an insulation sheet and a frame made of sheet metal are successively built up on a plate made of sheet metal, a pair of links pivotally connected together intermediate their opposite ends to form a pantograph mechanism are movably engaged at their one ends with respective bearings formed on the frame by a drawing process while the other ends of the links are movably engaged with respective bearings formed on the bottom surface of a key top.

Keyboard switch

In a pantograph type keyboard switch, a leaf spring projects from a linkage member and slidably engages the underside of a keytop and the resulting reaction force is used to remove play between the keytop and the linkage member. Further, a frictional slope is formed in each slide groove in the underside of the keytop so that frictional force increases as the keytop approaches the top dead point position.

Pantograph type keyboard switch

In a pantograph type keyboard switch, a leaf spring projects from a linkage member and slidably engages the underside of a keytop and the resulting reaction force is used to remove play between the keytop and the linkage member. Further, a frictional slope is formed in slide grooves in the underside of the keytop so that frictional force increases as the keytop approaches a top dead point.

A plurality of contacts for rotary switches are concentrically formed on a printed circuit board accommodated in a case. A fixed cylinder is disposed opposite to the concentric arrangement of the contacts. A rotary shaft of a first rotary knob pierces through and supports the fixed cylinder so as to drive slidable contact pieces for a first rotary switch. A rotary cylinder which functions as a rotary shaft of a second rotary knob is fitted to the outer periphery of the fixed cylinder so as to drive slidable contact pieces for a second rotary switch. Spring coils for the first and second rotary knobs are mounted on the fixed cylinder. The spring coils provide the first and second rotary knobs with tensions for their rotation reference positions. Thus, the positions of slidable contact pieces of the rotary switches are elastically maintained to their reference angle positions.
