An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit; a storage section that stores a plurality of registration information, each including authentication information and terminal information indicating a terminal corresponding to the authentication information; an input section that inputs authentication information; an acquisition section that acquires registration information including terminal information corresponding to the authentication information inputted by the input section, from the storage section of the image forming apparatus or a storage section of another image forming apparatus; and a controller that receives image data from a terminal indicated by the terminal information included in the registration information acquired by the acquisition section and controls the image forming unit to form an image on a recording medium based on the received image data.

In an image forming apparatus, an image forming portion forms an image on a rotator. A storage portion stores change characteristics information relevant to correction parameters corresponding to phase points of the rotator. A designating portion designates a correction parameter from the correction parameters based on the change characteristics information. A correcting portion corrects an image forming position on the rotator based on the correction parameter designated by the designating portion. When a first determining portion determines, based on a detecting phase point of the rotator detected by a detecting portion, that the current phase of the rotator corresponds to a shifting phase point, and further a second determining portion determines that the image forming portion is in inactive time, the designation by said designating portion is shifted to the correction parameter corresponding to the shifting phase point.

A feeding unit that feeds a medium, a plurality of image carriers arranged in parallel along a moving direction of the medium, a developer image forming unit that forms a developer image on the plurality of image carriers, and a transfer unit that transfers the developer image formed on the plurality of image carriers onto the medium is described. The developer image forming unit forms a first developer image on a first image carrier of the plurality of image carriers, the first developer image being used for transferring a first pattern at a first interval on the medium along the feeding direction. The optical scanning device includes an oscillating mirror which has a pair of electrodes and a mirror oscillator, and which deflects a light beam; a driving unit which applies a wave-like driving signal to the pair of electrodes so as to oscillate the mirror oscillator by an electrostatic force corresponding to the driving signal; and an adjusting unit which changes a duty ratio of the driving signal to adjust an oscillation amplitude of the oscillating mirror.

A sheet feeding device for automatically feeding sheet paper from a cassette or feeding one sheet of paper at a time as the sheets are inserted into an insertion guide. The paper is fed in the automatic feed mode by bringing the stacked paper and a rotating sheet feeding roller into contact with one another. When the manual feed mode is selected, the stacked paper and the rotating roller are separated. A sheet of paper placed in the insertion guide is fed to a contact point between the sheet feeding rollers, now rotating counter to the rotational direction during automatic sheet feeding, and an opposing pressure rollers.
